Expensive mud to play on
The course really didn’t recover from rain earlier in the week. Despite being sunny that day and the day before, the ground didn’t drain well and the course was muddy. Likely to lose your ball if you missed the fairway, and sometimes even if you did find the fairway due to either being plugged in the mud, or the camouflage of daisies.
Pace of play was slow. It took almost 5.5 hours for 18. Pretty much waiting at the tee every hole, and you had to watch yourself during second shots for incoming tee shots from behind due to marshals pushing play.
Should have asked for a refund.
I had a 3:26 tee time but things were so backed up that we didn’t tee off until 3:55. Then there were already three groups waiting at hole 2. 90 minutes from my tee time, I had only played 3 holes.
Conditions were pretty bad but that was understandable given all the rain,
I quit after 9 and don’t think I’ll play Crystal again.
Good times
Always have fun at this course we’ll later our r the holes but they could up date there carts other the. That love it
Solid course … can use more monitoring for pace of play
Course is in great shape. We played 18! holes under 4 1/2 hours but should have been shorter. I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd group that was slow playing the entire round
can’t get senior rate because book through golfnow
I booked the tee time via golfnow with the course rate, $57 for walking., which is the regular rate for weekday according to the Crystal Spring golf website. My friend told me that there is a senior rate offered by this course. So I told the golf shop person when I registered that I am 65. But the golf shop person said since I booked this via golfnow, I have to pay the golfnow rate. I feel this is a rip off because I didn’t get any discount from golfnow for this teetime, and golfnow never give the option for senior rate. I played another course two days ago - same situation, booked via golfnow, but the course honored me the senior rate when I registered. So, where is the problem? golfnow or Crystal Spring golf?
WAY too slow
The first 6 holes took 2 hours. It was the slowest round I have ever played. They are teeing groups off every 7 minutes, which is way too much. They should also have a ranger. On the 17th hole, a man in the group in front of me decided to take a phone call on the green while his buddies were teeing off - quite frustrating and unprofessional when you’re already trying to squeeze your 18 in before dark
