Woodbridge Golf Club
About
Woodbridge’s layout doglegs through some interesting terrain, with heavy woodlands, natural wetlands, streams, and meadows making the course scenic and fun. There are 15 doglegs in all, which makes for a tough, long 7,088 yards if you’re playing from the tips.
Woodbridge’s best feature is perfectly conditioned greens that vary in size and force you to think because of the heavy undulations.
One of the most challenging holes on the front nine is No. 5, a 429-yard par 4 that plays uphill through a tight chute of trees. The spectacular green is guarded by a waterfall on the left, bunkers to the right and rear, and a pond in the front.
On the back, No. 16 is one of the nastiest, playing over water that wraps around the green. Overhanging trees get in the way off the tee, forcing you to work the ball if the pin is tucked right or left. Rather than getting fancy, the best play here is to get it on the green and work for the two-putt par.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 (Central Expressway) north to Hwy. 190 (George Bush Turnpike). Drive east to Hwy. 78, then north for 4 miles. The entrance to the subdivision is on the right, and there are signs to the course inside.

Pace of play only thing !
Played on a Saturday morning 9:30. I was a single , was paired up with three others ultra high handicappers... nice guys but I total butt kicker ... I got called back into work after 4 Thank you baby Jesus. Went into pro shop Eric totally understood I had to leave and gave me a rain check. Totally solid track I’ll be back this weds. Hopefully no structure fires so I can stay !
One of our favorites
Beautiful course with tall mature trees. Great layout
Great Course
First game in 5 yrs so was a bit rusty to say the least lol. Course condition was excellent, very fast greens as they were being cut for a competition same day. Loved the layout, plenty water, bunkers to keep you on your toes. Good pro shop and grill bar etc. Would recommend the burger as it was delish! Definitely play here again and would recommend it if you are in the area.
Fun course
Greens are a bit dry as is all of Dallas. Challenging.
Great course
I have a group that plays every Sat and play here about every 6 or 7 rounds. It is a great course for a challenge but fair for the fun. The greens are always good and fairways are as good as can be expected right after winter. The staff are always friendly as well. I highly recommend that people try this course.
Beautiful Course
First time played
I though the course was excellent.. The layout is challenging. The greens rolled true. The natural beauty is impressive..The pace of play was great - The person who joined us played here all the time said it was unusual we didn't have to wait because it can be backed up - but we had no one in front or behind us that I could see and it was early on a sat afternoon - I will definitely play here again..
Rock hard
Love this course.....but not today. Tee boxes were so hard you had to pound tees in and fairways were mostly hardpan. Bunkers were awful. Most greens were fast and true, but some were very bumpy. I guess they are waiting for rain. Great staff, great price but I'll pay more to play in better conditions
Challenging
Excellent day, really challenging course for my level, green in good conditions and fast.
It is getting slower
This is a fairly challenging course. It was more so this day due to a stiff wind along with very firm fairways and greens. The grass is still recovering in some areas from heavy rains and flooding a few weeks ago but overall, conditions were decent. The downside to the round was the pace of play particularly on the back nine. The foursome that had been in front of us for some reason split into twosomes and both appeared oblivious to the groups stacking up behind them. A course marshal would be helpful but I have never seen one on the course.
Great Condition & Layout
Best, affordable, Public course I have played in the Dallas Metro.
Great little track
This was my second time playing here. I played with the assistant pro so I had to man up and play from the tips. Wind was a steady 20 most of the day. Greens were firim and fast but if you can put some spin on it nothing to worry about. Fairways were coming back nicely, just a few bunkers left that need to be worked on but most were in good shape and had been done. A few of the tee boxes could use a little leveling.
Overall the course was in great shape for early spring, staff was great and greens rolled good. I’ll be back on my next trip out from California.
Great slop and rating from blue and black tee box.
Great course, extremely challenging especially the greens
Regular player
I play this course regularly and u should too. 4 plus stars in all categories.
Always a good test
I play Woodbridge fairly often. The course has plenty of challenges and with the addition of the wind this day, they were accentuated. Conditions are improving as the grass comes back to life. There were a couple of spots, though not seriously in play, that suffered from the flooding that occurred during the heavy rains of a couple weeks ago. Renovations are continuing on bunkers around the course and some were marked as ground under repair. Greens were rolling well and have slowed down a little from the greased lightening speed of winter. Woodbridge is one of my favorite places to play. The staff is friendly and works diligently to get you out on time. I usually play as a single an they have always done an excellent job of pairing me with compatible players. The food and service in the restaurant is also quite good.
Skip it for awhile
St Patrick's day golf wasn't what I hoped it would be. Other than a cart in front of us playing Dropkick Murphy's all day, it was pretty bad.
6 hours. We played behind a tournament playing six balls off every tee, fairway, and green. I know revenue is a driver at public golf courses, but management has to realize they will lose paying customers like me when they subject people to these conditions. I will not go back. Most likely the others in my group won't either. It just isn't good business practice.
Due to the issue above, we also hit some bad weather for 5 holes on the back 9. We finished in a steady rain in a cart with no windshield or club cover. Miserable.
Course conditions were pretty bad as well. Tee boxes were so hard we broke tees trying to put them in the ground. The low areas on the course were still washed out, muddy, and very smelly from the flooding a few weeks ago. Greens were sanded and very bumpy and slow. Bunkers were either overfilled with sand or worn down to liners and concrete. Woodbridge can be a fun course if conditions are good, but right now it is in terrible shape.
All in all, just a bad experience. The gentlemen I was paired with made it at least tolerable until the rains came. You can learn a lot about some people in 6 hours together.......
