About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

course was in better shape than the last time I played there. Pace, luckily, was good this time. It isn't always so. The course needs rangers to keep the pace brisk.

Very good course
Excellent staff, I was impressed by how healthy the fairway grass is. Greens are in great shape. The club house is one of the best in SoCal.

I am what you now would call a spoilt golfer. This was not always the case.
Most rounds I play are minimum $100. The picture on Golf Now looked pretty good for this course.
In reality, not at all a resemblance
The greens would have been decent if not for the multiple players that did not fix their divots. Even the Twosome I joined did not look twice at their marks. The fact that I had an early tee time and made these observations did not sit well with me.
Fairways were decent, but the electrical pylons that ran through the course were distracting. A certain smell permeated through the course, Not quite sure what it was. Not pleasant.
No issues with the staff, pace of play, and amenities. Parking was not practical.
Honestly. The course should not be more than 45 a round tops 35 would be fair.
