Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Beautiful Course
This course is beautiful. But pace of play is way to slow. Backed up at every tee box. Sometimes there's 2 to 3 group back up.

Great layout
Overall in very good condition, greens we’re soft and did not give much rollout. No biggie.
As always the greens can be tricky.

Rio Hondo
I hadn’t played Rio Hondo in a few years, but it is still a very nice muni. The layout is very nice, with tee shots through shoots. Some wide open fairways, and some risk reward shots. Water comes into play on 7 or 8 holes, and there is fair bunkering. Greens were a little slower than they look but overall, Rio Hondo is still one of the nice Muni courses in Los Angeles.

Excellent Pace on Saturday Afternoon
Got started at 3:30 and finished 18 by 7:45, playing 4 some. Great pace of play.

Improved
Second time I’ve played here. I’m a beginner but always get matched with easy going people. Thank you John, Scot & Reina! Only negative out of 10 positives is the pace of play. Started at noon on a Friday and it took 5.5 hours. It was not overbooked but the two groups in front of us played at a snails pace. Felt bad for the two groups behind us. We were all together often during the day. Staff is always great, layout challenging & condition of course is good considering it’s summer.
