About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Please fix your ball marks on the green
I've notice that ever since covid the common courtesy to uphold the conditions of the course by the ones playing isn't there anymore. Please everyone repair your ball marks on the green and once there repair two more. And also rack the traps for Pete's sake. Let everyone that day enjoy their round of golf. This just doesn't apply to this course but every course I have played in the LA and OC area the same problems exist that wasn't a problem 3 years ago.

Worst ever
I really dont know where to start.... The cashier at the main window.... Rude. The guy in the golf store was the only person that was pleasant... 30 min late for a tee off.... pace of play was sooooooo slow. I think they put out tee times every 3 to 5 min.... 9 holes 3.5 hrs. Wow. Got to 10 and there were 5 groups waiting to tee off. Skipped to 11 another 3 groups waiting.... skipped to 12 another 3 groups. Then we just left. Wow is all I can say. Never again.

Always a fun round
Rio Hondo never let's me down. Challenging fairways, some water to maneuver around and the pace of play gets clunked up a bit but then opens up. The staff is always helpful and I'm grateful for them and the course. Enjoy.

Great Condition
The greens were rolling true and I only saw a few bare patches on the whole course. I play here often and they generally keep this course in very good shape. One of the better values around!

Oh boy…
Extremely slow play, our group was almost hit three separate times by Other golfers hitting into our fairway without calling anything out!
The greens are the worst I’ve ever seen, very bumpy & patchy

Got an email the morning of my tee time saying it was cancelled. Thought to myself it’s a mistake because it’s happened here at this course before and they let me keep my tee time. (Keep in mind this has never happened at any other course I’ve played). Not this time, the course cancelled my tee time and left me out to dry.

Nice course! Has its pros and cons
I’m by no means a great golfer but I found this course to be fun and well designed. Only downside were the greens were very bumpy slow . I will be back
