Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Sunday funday
Played Rio Hondo for the first time in 47 yrs. Played the course 1975. Since then it was completely remodeled and enjoyed the course. Pace of play was way to slow, they need to work on that. Also would be nice to have a cart person supplying the needs of the golfers. Other than those two issues it was a great afternoon of golf.
Have seen Better
Overall the course is very dry and patchy in various places... Greens were really hard and not very receptive. They weren't rolling very true either. I've seen this course in way better condition and not sure what is going on but it needs some TLC... Always a fun walkable track that will challenge you as you gotta keep it straight. Hoping they can get this place back into the playing conditions it once was

Slow day
Left after 9 holes. Was a 3 hour log jam. To be fair , it’s the 1st time it’s happened to me here

Fun course - pace of play needs work
Fun course, love the layout and location to DTLA. A good value, not a great value compared to other city courses. Little tight in some areas so hackers will be on other fairways so that certainly slows down pace. The overall pace of play was horrible and spent was almost waiting on every hole. Took 5 hours to finish and that happened last time I was there too. Other than that the course conditions and greens were great.

Slow pace of play
Only done 14 holes by 4 and half hours, Every tee box every fairway every green we had to Waite at least 2 minutes.

Disappointing
Used to be a nice course. Course now looks like a goat track. Muddy spots all over every fairway. 5 hour round with waits on almost every hole.

Horrific
What a shame!!! This course conditions use to be so great. T box looks more horrible than range, second shots on fairways are from dirt or mud (no grass) and the greens are full of divots.

Slow pace
Only done 14 holes in 4 and half hour. From hole#1, we had to wait for couple minutes on tee box , fairway, and green.

Slow play
Slow play. I shot 69 here in 4.5hrs not ok golf should not take this long ever. The golf community needs to take control of this asap in Northern California rounds are 2.5hrs 3hrs at the longest. Get it together!
