About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Great city course
Found the course to be challenging but fair. Was grouped with fellas that knew the course so had som insight on the layout.
Wonderful greens and above average fairways-well maintained overall.

Nice round
Nice course, would recommend and play again. Only complaints were beat up greens (players not fixing the divots) and the back on hole 8 (long par 3)

Nice course but no tee time available so it doesn't matter
This is one of the better managed county courses in greater LA area. However, it's unfortunately a very hard to make reservation for weekdays!

The Hondo
Phew, always gotta pay attention playing this course. Solid layout and proper shot making required. Traps we’re good, fairways were ok the greens were way too slow though. Solid staff and easy check in. Will play here again.

5 and half hours for 18 holes. Often 3 groups on a hole, starting from 5th hole

Too slow
I had to bail after 9 holes. 2 hours 45 minutes. I only have the one life to live…

Green were a little beat up. Nobody fixed their divots unfortunately. A lot of golfers walking and in carts but pace wasn’t too bad. We booked for a later round and staff was able to get us out earlier. I’d say 6.7 out of 10
