Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Pace Of Play and Greens
Had a tee time for 11:15am on a Monday and it was a 5 hour and 15 minute round. No marshal out ensuring people were moving along. The greens were not in good shape as there were blotches of mud/dirt on the course and practice greens as grass wasn’t growing in completely. Also, the layout was a bit dangerous as there seemed to be someone yelling fore on every hole. Any errant tee shot would be on another fairway and into another group. The only thing I’d say was good about this course was the breakfast burrito and the friendly staff. I do not plan on returning for the $70 tee time.
Pace very slow
The pace of play was very slow. We were bunched up 2-4 groups at a hole.
Good Day for Golf
Golfed on a Friday, course was good n play was good. Lot’s of golfers so play was slow. Tee time at 1:00 PM n got in 15 holes before dark.
Good course
I've been here multiple times and always had a good experience. Friendly staff and pace was decent (only backs up a little on par 3's). I'll be back for years to come.

Walking it is great because there are no hills to tire you out, and the greens are very well maintained.
