Rio Hondo Golf Club

About
Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Best Course IMO
For a public chorus it’s probably the most well-maintained, challenging, respectively priced golf course around great staff management tight fairways beautiful greens.
Decent course, dishonest patrons.
I know this is 100% my fault, let me be clear. I left my rangefinder on the cart. I went back the next day and it wasn’t turned in. Hopefully it’s lost in the back somewhere after the cart was cleaned and it will turn up, or someone took it off the cart before it as cleaned. I guess with everything, keep an eye on your belongings or someone else will.
2nd time playing Rio Hondo
Really enjoy the course. It's definitely a challenging course. Just wish pace a play was more of a priority. 5 and a half hour round. Otherwise a very underrated course.
Greens were in good shape but the rest of the course not so. Layout was okay but the pace of play was slow.
Overall, great course.
Pace of play way too slow. No marshall to keep things moving. Took over 5.5 hours to finish 18 holes
Excellent organization
From start to finish there is an excellent organization: departures, during the tour and at the end.
Slow!
3 hour front nine and never saw a ranger. Didn’t improve much on the back.
Good tee time, weak body!
I'm nearing the time when I must choose playing shorter courses.
This course is fun golf and good looking to play a round at, but Birch Hills in Brea will be seeing more of me 'til I call it quits.
Nice course but greedy
Management overbooks. Too many golfers.
5 1/2 hr round. 6 hr rounds. No Marshall.
