Located just minutes from LAX, Rio Hondo Golf Club is conveniently accessible from the South Bay and Orange County. Golf Digest has ranked the course as one of southern California's "Places to Play." The 6,370-yard layout is narrow and challenging, placing a premium on accuracy off the tee. Many locals consider it to be the toughest golf course in the area. The course features tight, tree-lined fairways and subtly contoured greens that are faster than they look. It's not a particularly long layout but the par 3s provide some good length. Golfers will face a variety of challenges throughout, but there is also plenty of scenic respite. Sparkling lakes and cascading waterfalls are scattered across the landscape, coming into play on a few holes as well. In addition to the golf course, there is also a lighted, 30-station driving range at Rio Hondo G.C.

Overall, great course.
Pace of play way too slow. No marshall to keep things moving. Took over 5.5 hours to finish 18 holes
Excellent organization
From start to finish there is an excellent organization: departures, during the tour and at the end.
Slow!
3 hour front nine and never saw a ranger. Didn’t improve much on the back.
Good tee time, weak body!
I'm nearing the time when I must choose playing shorter courses.
This course is fun golf and good looking to play a round at, but Birch Hills in Brea will be seeing more of me 'til I call it quits.
Nice course but greedy
Management overbooks. Too many golfers.
5 1/2 hr round. 6 hr rounds. No Marshall.
plenty of golf in this exec course.
Looking at this course, I realized what a nicely kept up park it is. I booked a later t-time to save some money, arrived 10min. late loosing another 30 mins. before starting resulting in quitting after starting 17 as it became too dark to see and losing 9 balls. I did find someone else's ball, though. Ha!
I'll book earlier next time.
P.S.: I've so far been fortunate to join w/nice people out for a fun time.
