The Country Club at Soboba Springs
About
Soboba Springs Golf Course was founded in 2004 when the Luiseno Indians purchased the property. It had long been a dream of the tribal leaders to own this golf course, which borders their reservation. The tribe's leaders hired Cary Bickler, a disciple of the course's original designer, Desmond Muirhead, to update the layout and pave the way for it to once again be one of southern California's premier golfing destinations. The renovation included the addition of 25 new bunkers, a lengthening of the back tees and shortening of the forward tees by almost 1,000 yards to make it more approachable for the less experienced player. The Augusta-white sand that fills Soboba Springs' bunkers provides a stunning contrast to the lush greens. Water also comes into play throughout the golf course in the form of meandering streams and cascading waterfalls.

Under renovation
Temporary holes and greens make this a course for getting the kinks out of your swing worth going , very average otherwise.
Temporary Course
The casino that owns the course is building a casino and hotel. They have taken over part of the course and you now have 6 temporary greens. Eventually it will be a beautiful course when construction is completed, which looks like spring of 2019.
Soboba
Overall this was a fun day. The only issue was that we were not told when we arrived or was an advisory noted when booking on Golf Now that the course was undergoing a renovation to accommodate a hotel & casino expansion. As such the course layout was changed with temporary holes added. Having known this ahead of time we would have booked somewhere else but Golf Now made the problem right.
Playing on 4 temporary greens
The course is underway to a new layout so taking that into account it depends on the price a person pays , but the course that’s not under construction is in great shape . When they get done it will be very nice & it well depends on the price they will charge, it may become too expensive, we’ll have to see .
the warning could have been clearer
the warning said they were working on the back nine holes. Pretty much the whole course was butchered. A few were great and fun to play. This seems to be temporary, so it is a really good course to play when there is nothing under repair. Hopefully, they get finished soon.
Still fun to play
Even though this course is under construction, it still is in good shape with some temporary greens and holes. Look forward to seeing it when the new holes are completed. Good value for the money.
Not informed about course reconstruction
Course in the process of being rebuilt due to part of course being required to build the new Soboba Casino. This resulted in lots of construction, par 5 holes being turned into 2X par 3s and other changes that really mean this course is much shorter and probably should be rated around par 60 or there abouts. Add to that that the lunch cafe closes from `1115am to 12 noon, which we did not know beforehand. Had this all been communicated at the time of booking, we would have played another course.
Not the Usual...
The course greens and fairways are in as good acondition as usual. The course overall however is under major construction and all yardages and markers are off. 6 par 3's with numerous temporary greens and tee boxes and regular holes in different than usual order. An advisory on-line or even while checking in would have been nice. No need to bother posting that score.
...disappointed...
We have played the course before and staying in Palm Springs I booked on line but upon arriving we were informed about course improvements taking place and because of the long drive there we decided to play anyways. The course is really under construction in a lot of places and some holes made into two...a short par 4 and a par 3...it was not expensive and the staff were helpful but i'm waiting til they're finished to go back...in a year or so...
Will not play again
It could be a nice course. Leaves laying everywhere, and my playing companions had difficulty finding golf balls. Owners building a new casino, and the course is torn up and aid out terribly with temporary holes.
On the back nine we caught a foursome who were the SLOWEST golfers in the world and playing from the tips, when in fact they should have played from the lady's tee. No sign of a marshal. I complained to the golf shop after the round.
One time playing this course, and only one time!!
Not the best
I had high hopes before play the course since I had played it years ago. Unfortunately the way it is set up today was a disappointment. I realize they are trying to keep the 18 holes, but it just does not work out very well. For the most part the course is in good condition, however I think they should have just had 9 good holes which you could play twice.
Soboba ... almost a gem!
This course should be absolutely stunning, when it's completed. A new Casino/resort being built. Completion is spring 19. The Golf Now app does NOT show that the course is modified and parts are under construction. 4 holes removed, laid into, yes an overlay, and 2 par 5 & 2 par 4 missing. Instead they have a par 3/temporary greens fit into them. Only aboit 6000 yrds.
Other than that, NICE TRACK!
Good Value
The course is in good condition overall cosidering that the new casino has caused some havac with a few holes and some temporary holes making the course shorter than it should be. Golfers also have to be aware of numerous mudhens littering the fairways, etc.
Thanks Soboba!
Had a blast. Course is in great condition except for the holes affected by construction of the new casino/hotel. Great value.
Real sand!
This was a beautiful course! The signage could use some work but over all I would love and plan to play again!
And yes the bunkers have real sand! Not that ground up Concreate you find at most courses that flat hurt to hit out of...that is if you can hit out of them! The greens are chalaging and fun. They’re working on a few new holes due to nearby construction so there are a few temporary greens but even they are better than most!
Half A Course
The site is under major construction and half of the holes are taken by new building construction. The current layout has made two par threes out of original par fours and par fours out of original par fives. Would not recommend playing until the new/replacement holes are constructed, Very disappointing!!!
Too much construction
With all the construction and course reconfiguration the course is confusing and not near what it was. I’ll wait until construction is complete to play again.
