Bonaventure Golf Club

Very good course with nice view and good holes. But need maintenance. Greens are not in good shape and need repair.

Staff very nice. Guy doing maintenance of lakes gave me some balls founded.

This used to be one of Broward County's finest. Today it is a total embarresment. The condition of the course is horrendous. My HOA would fine me if my lawn looked the fairways here, the greens had more dirt than grass, the bunkers hadn't been raked in weeks, were full of weeds and rocks and many had tire tracks through them. A great layout ruined by such poor maintenance . Read the other reviews and find someplace else to play.

The greens are terrible along with the tee boxes!! The fairways need attention as well!! The advertisement for the course shows a water which is nonexistent!

It was a steady pace but course is recovering from some kind of damage and is coming back.

The first couple of greens were unplayable, not the way to start a round. Some tee boxes were like sand, . course needs work.

The course and layout are a challenge but the maintenance of the course is poor. Tough to put on the greens due to what's going on with them. We also got 3 rental sets with 2 sets having broken clubs and 1 missing a putter.

Sounds like the old owner bought the place again and changes will be coming.

As the title suggests, played better conditioned courses for cheaper. They had some serious sod work on the greens that was really bad. The two groups in front of us were really slow until after the turn the marshall got on em to pick up pace.

I did love the layout but it's hard to get in the groove when you can't get consistent putting.

Also, bunch of ant hills around the green and the sand traps may as well have been concrete. (Not that I found it that many times)

I could see myself going back if it was in better shape, but until then, I wouldn't recommend for the price.

I haven’t played a course in this bad of shape in years. Wouldn’t play it again for free.

Every green was a mess; hunks of grass missing. None of the facilities were open. Even the restrooms were closed.

It’s been 15 years since I played this track. It’ll be 15 years before I think of returning.

Goods:

Nice new paved parking lot.

Friendly bag attendant.

Solid electric golf cart.

Not so good:

Range balls older than me. I’m 70.

Fairways like hard pan. What little grass is really weeds.

Rough is essentially overgrown weeds.

Tee boxes are either dirt or weeds.

Bunkers haven’t been raked since Christ was a baby.

Many Greens had depressions filled with green sand.

Overall

I paid afternoon rate of $45. They should have paid me. One star is too high a rating.

Like the West course the owners need to sell this for development, since they have no interest in maintaining an acceptable golf course.

However , I’ve played better cow pastures.

Issues

Grass was not cut , launch pads were beaten up and the blocks looked like they were in the same spot for a week.

The greens looked like they had cancer, 50% of the area was in playable.

Waterfall feature was not working. ………the golf carts were good .

Sporty for the downer review. !

Fun if you like Jurassic park… nice lay out but absolutely horrible on maintenance on the course.. first time I have plugged a ball on the green… good luck boys
