Underrated Course
This course is severely underrated. I started golfing last fall and avoided this course for a very long time, opting to instead play at Davie Golf and Country Club a few minutes away. That course is great, but extremely difficulty for a beginner, with water hazards on almost every hole. Last week I bit the bullet and played at Cooper Colony for the first time wanting to try something different, and it was so enjoyable I came back this week as well. It is definitely an easier course, being shorter and containing less hazards. However, the many par 3s require you to be accurate if you want a good score. The pace of play is phenomenal compared to Davie Golf, due to difference in traffic. My first round was on a Sunday afternoon and I finished in about 3.5 hours, and my second round that I am writing this review after was on a Tuesday afternoon that I had taken off from work. I walked the entire course in 2 hours and 45 minutes, with a bathroom and snack break. Obviously, as more people discover this course, the pace of play will slow, but I'm fine with that. The more people that start using this course, the more income that can be used to better it! I will definitely be adding this course to my rotation, and will probably use it as my main course until I can get to a lower handicap. My only complaints are that the cart path desperately needs to be redone, and the bathrooms remind me something out of a horror movie. But the tee boxes and fairways are acceptable, and the greens are very pretty, and the course itself being playable is what matters!
Course conditions improving!
This is the best I’ve seen the greens in all my years playing at Cooper!
Fun
I play here all the time and it’s fun! Gary the owner is hands on and is very helpful both on the driving range and course. Great staff everyone is pleasant and helpful and willing to help will any questions. Gary does a very inexpensive lesson twice a week on the driving range and is always there to help. If you want a quick moving small par 60 I would recommend it to anyone!
Should be embarrassed to charge for play
Course was in terrible shape. Fairways had cart tracks in the mud everywhere. Sand traps could be called dirt traps. Green need work, many bare spots. Very disappointed especially was listed with 4 stars on TeeOff. I understand rain impacts the course but they should close until dries out. There are much better courses in area for less money.
not enjoyable
Driving range matts worn out , balls dead , greens in terrible shape, greens keeper left large chunks of cut grass all over greens, even though its low priced it still isn't worth it
ce terrain manque réellement d'entretien.
Ayant joué sur ce terrain il y a plus de 20 ans, il avait dans l'ensemble une qualité supérieure
a ce qu'il est aujourd'hui.
Good value
The course was fun for the price. The greens need trimmed as the grass was a bit high. Even though it was crowded, the speed of play was fine. We will go again.
Now Under New Management
Gary is running the course and it's becoming a real gem for a great value. No longer the old Cooper Colony. I never make reviews, but this course deserves it. Keep it up. Guy in the pro shop was extremely friendly and knew so much about golf, very impressed and fun to talk to!
This is a nice short course to give all your clubs a swing on.
The course is well laid out. The tee boxes and greens require attention but overall it is a nice course. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend this course to others.
OK for beginners or if you just want to tune up your swing
It's as if they set down some holes on a really big driving range.
Nice short course with some great, mature Florida landscape.
Course is in decent shape and a great value. Its a short course thats great for practicing the irons but also has some longer par 3's and provides some opportunity to pull out the driver on the par 4's.
Course requires mantenaince and better signs. Clubhouse is poor.
It is a course for beginners and practices. 12 par 3 but no par 5.
Greens requires maintanance and also bunkers.
friendly people
This course is a wonderful place to practice/ Good driving range, also short game area but needs a little work. Executive course good for par three practice. Club house upgrade and TV's. great neighborhood hang-out
Great executive course to practice.
Short but in a fair condition to practice short game.
The course needs a lot of attention
It's a great practice course. That's it. The fairway is poorly maintained. The green needs to be redone.
Great wildlife
poor green, but the wildlife made it more enjoyable.
This executive course plays friendly though the greens can be challenging.
This executive course plays friendly though the greens can be challenging. Driving range is open late with self serve ball machine. Great place to play after work.
Only good for the value on golf now.
I play 1-2 times a week, 3 times if i have no school. As i am a full time college student i do not have a lot of money to throw around and on golf now this course is well worth it 10$ per person with a cart. However anything higher then 12-13$ is a definite no. The course is in bad shape, the greens are overgrown with weeds and bare spots, a lot of the teeing areas are sand and the bathrooms are a mess. The water fountains do not work because the water filters are about 15 years old. The water taste worse than well water. That being said for 10$ this course is a perfect midway course between a executive (9 hole) and a full 72 par. 10$ per person is well worth having a good 3-4 hours of fun even though the course is in bad shape.
If you can spare even a bit more money and its convenient go somewhere else, otherwise note that this course is not a 5 star course and i only give it 3 stars due to the low cost on golf now.
You really need to go back, greens have been redone and course is playing very nicely. Great course to walk for the price. 12/2017
