The Club at River Wilderness

First time playing course. Layout was great but course in desparate need of work. Greens not too bad but very fast due to dry condition. Fairways hard and fast needing attention (fertilizer and reseeding). Tee boxes in disrepair. Staff was friendly. I heard course is for sale and it will be great course if someone buys and makes the investment needed. Only reason i would recommend to friends is some good good green fees available and they could see the future potential if the right person/group comes along to purchase the course.

Single digit senior golfer here. Greens in very good condition and roll true. Holes offer variety and challenge and have lots of tee blocks to choose your personal distance challenge. There are a couple of doglegs carved through trees, mixed with palms. Lots of fairway bunkers and water but not a tight golf course. Wind is a factor, in a good way. Alligators and Sand Hill Cranes are abundant. Staff are excellent and make you feel welcome. Practice range is included, and is fine. Putting green is good and represents the course. There is a chipping green near the first tee. Well worth the money.

As always I received a warm welcome from the cart gentleman and the pro shop staff My playing partner encountered a unexpected traffic delay in route. The staff graciously accommodated his late arrival and paired us with a wonderful couple who’s company we enjoyed. Not once did they show or offer anything but sympathy to his untimely delay even though the course was busy. That alone in the middle of season is commendable.

The course is in great shape and provides a perfect degree of challenge for our group of bogey golfers yet would be an excellent equally challenging test for better skilled players.

We played in the I’d afternoon and the pricing was affordable and valuable, especially during season.

We all look forward to our next opportunity to play here.

We have many choices in centra Florida, and River Wilderness ranks high on our list.

This is a very nice layout with fast greens. Challenging but with tee boxes for everyone. Fairways were just ok which is true for most courses in the area. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Played hear numerous times. Greens are fast and in good condition. Course is a great layout! The practice facilities are the best in the area, Great Range, pitching area, putting green, sand trap and a 150 yard practice hole. Wish they had a better bar and lunch at the turn for golfers. The fairways around the greens are in need of some more grass, made chipping very hard. Overall though definately recommend this course. Go early to take advantage of the practice facilities/unlimited range balls

Tournament was just finishing we had two twosomes in front we finished in three hours. My type of golf fast paced. Played this course many times always enjoyable

Great staff! Nice course. Booked so tight it was 5 hours to play 18.

Finished in the dark.

For me that slow of a rate of play negatively effects my game. I’d love to go back but I’m not sure that it’s a good idea.

If you like to spend all day on he course this is the place for you.

Older course that still has potential if they would pay more attention to the fairways.

Staff very friendly. Played at 2:00 and finished in well under 4 hours. Great layout and course in very good shape. Can’t wait to play there again.

Golf carts were dangerous as the brake Lock would not always work but fortunately it was s flat vourse there was no Marshall on the course and slow play was there. . Course could do with upgrades..

The fairways were in very rough shape. The same for the tee boxes. The greens were very nice and fast. They ran true which made the course tolerable.

Nice day at River Wilderness. This course is always a little wet but still plays good. Greens hold shots well but also putt sneaky fast especially down grain. Staff always friendly and polite. Will be back

Great layout and great staff. Unfortunately the course is very run down. Soft and uneven greens, not true at all. Pace of play is very slow, so much so they were delayed by 25 min.

Living in Venice, I had never played this course before but was pleasantly surprised. For January the course was in very good condition. Some thin spots here and there but better than I’ve seen elsewhere. Greens soft but quick. Driving range with free balls, large putting green, and even free iced tea! What more could you want! Highly recommended if you want a scenic course with a friendly staff.

Course was fair and very playable. Greens in good shape and rolled true and quick. Over all conditions quite good.

Layout interesting with a bit more hills and contour than a typical Florida course. Pro shop and started gave excellent advise/info on the couple of holes that are not straight forward.
