About
Cypress Lakes Country Club is the centerpiece of the Ormond community, a neighborhood of more than 500 homes. Blending seamlessly into the surrounding cypress trees, the golf course is both challenging and scenic. You'll have to navigate your way around 17 different ponds that come into play throughout the course. With several forced carries over wetlands, it will feel like there is water at every turn. There are also 40 strategically placed bunkers bordering the greens and fairways. It's a layout that will test your accuracy and ability to strategize. Multiple sets of tees keep scratch golfers happy while beginners can also approach the course with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Cypress Lakes has a practice facility featuring a 400-yard driving range with multiple targets and putting and chipping greens.

Fun course
This course has some short par fours that the average golfer can score on as well as some tougher holes for the expert. Fun course to play.
Really Good Experience
I had a good time playing Cypress Lakes Country Club in Destrehan, LA. The greens were a little hairy, but what greens aren't in southern Louisiana. Also, a few of the greens were very sandy as well. Other than that, the course is well taken care of.
Poor
The greens were poor, no grass on them. Same for the fairways. I thought they got enough rain here to keep a course like this somewhat flush with grass on the fairways and greens. Won't go back
Tough course
Beautiful layout with water on 17 of 18 holes. If you're not playing the round with someone familiar with the course, bring extra balls. Water comes in to play many times without being able to see it.
Nice course
Lots of Water. Sand traps were compacted. Would play again.
Nice course
We had a great time great weather conditions course in good shape
Had a great day
This is the old Ormond Plantation Course. I was playing with someone who just started playing two months ago. This course has many holes that require shot planning and course management and was a good experience for my friend. The rough was a little tall which made finding a missed shot difficult, but the greens were in good shape a consistent. I booked a 12:20 Saturday tee time online so fees were $32/player. The course wasn't busy considering the awesome weather so we were able to take our time and and only had one group play through.
Friendly staff, course in good condition
Beautiful cypress trees sometimes in fairways. Nice greens. Good mix of holes. Some blind shots with water not visable from tee boxes. Friendly staff. Looking forward to playing again.
Very nice course
This course is very nice for an amateur golfer! A little dry but greens were perfect!
Enjoyed this course
This course was in good shape. I very much enjoyed the layout and was treated very well by the staff. We happened to play with a very nice man who lives on the course and is one of the major investers. He filled us in on the future plans for the course. Looks like a bright future. I would highly recommend playing this course.
Nice course
The greens were a little bumpy and slow but the course was in overall good shape. Much improved from a month ago. Should be nice all summer
Over priced
Course in good shape, new carts however the strap on my cart broke causing my bag to fall off the cart, broke the head clean off my driver. I talked to the manager, he said he would replace the club, but that has yet to be seen. Overall a decent, challenging course
Much improved since three years ago.
Nice track in good condition. Greens were excellent, best I played in four courses in New Orleans this year.
Ormond good value for the money
The course is in good shape for the winter. The greens were green and firm. The course has a lot of water, but it is fair. It has a good mix of long and shorter holes.
I hope to play again in the summer when the grass is green.
Challenge in the swamp
Cypress Lakes is a challenging golf course. It has been around for a number of years as Ormond CC, but fell on tough times like a lot of courses. It is a little rough, but I think that it is definitely on the way back. I would play it again.
Fun to play.
A challange for all levels. fairways in great condition. Greens fast but could be in better shape. Lots of water but fair. A fun course to play at a good value.
