Hotel with history behind it!! Photo submitted by Shypoke55 on 04/22/2019
In its day back in the 60’s it must have been quite a resort
The website photo is very deceiving, the conditions were not even close. Worse fairways I have played in AZ, nonexistent rough, poor greens but a great layout……..John Wayne and Pat Boone would have rolled over in their g.raves to see & play their course today.
No beverage cart even though it was a weekend
If you looking for new golfing experience in AZ …….THIS IS NOT IT
This course needs some work. The fees are too high for the course condition.
Greens vgood, fairways not so much
Greens were cut, smooth and receptive. Fairways and tees were mediocre. Many areas need to see a mower. Layout is vgood with a nice mix of sand, trees and water. Course needs some TLC to improve conditions. Will go back with the belief that fairways and tees will improve.
Best Course Value in the Desert
Staff is always friendly
Tee Boxes flat, fairways good shape
Greens make you think about your putts
If you’re not in the fairways then you are going to work on getting to the greens. Enjoyable playing.
I wouldn't call it a resort course
It's not a bad golf course, just that it seems more like it should be an average municipal course.
The course was alright, but rough in some spots.
Just not what I would expect for a "resort" course and at that price.
Course conditions
You seriously need to work on your tee boxes, example no place to throw your tees in. Tee box's were basically dead grass. And your greens from 30 yards in are embarrassing. You need a no cart zone in front of the aprons about 30 yards out. Divots on the greens were out of control. Maybe a sign to fix all divots on greens. I would recommend sand cannister in carts or on tee boxes to use after teeing off. Fairways were nice. More water around the greens and on. Don't break an ankle on those golfer holes..
save your money.
I was really excited about playing this course since someone in Phoenix recommended it several years ago. Looking at the website, the course looks beautiful with green grass fairways and luscious greens. These pictures must have been taken years ago because the course never looked anything like the pictures. the fairways are hard as rocks and the greens just as hard and fast. keeping the ball in play is required because if you miss the fairways, your ball is probably on hard dirt, not desert sand. My recommendation would be to save your money (and travel time) and play elsewhere. P.S. The Barros pizza in Casa Grande is Great.
Lots of trees
Played this course 5 or 6 times
It’s in good condition
Always enjoy playing here
