Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

Someone in there wisdom (Not!) booked a Shotgun Tournament to start at 12:30, our tee time was 12:50,

After 2 holes the waiting began, and it got worse, sometimes 3 or 4 groups on one hole!!

It was a 5 hour round and finished the last hole in the dark!!!

For the prices you charge…Shame one you Las Sendas!!

Gentlemen inside the club house threw his receipt at me. Starter at the #1 tee had tighter security than the White House; the guy was irate I was bringing a rider along and inspected my receipt for 5 minutes as if I was lying about paying for my tee and rider.

The customer service was absurd and probably the worst I’ve ever experienced on a golf course.

I highly recommend Las Sendas golf course. The course condition was excellent and scenery was incredible.

Plenty of tee positions for golfers of every level. Only negative is the course was cart path only so the rate of play was slow and we did plenty of walking.

This was not a problem for me but others with less mobility were put out.

I learned later that this happens seasonally due to reseeding of the grass. Makes sense.
