Golden Hills Golf Club

We used to play here in 2018 - 2020 because it was close and not too bad. But then it went downhill. We decided to give it a shot because some of the reviews said it was better. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? This course is horrible. Tee boxes, greens, and especially fairways. Every golf cart I saw (especially ours) had ripped seats with duct tape that kept sticking to our rears. Sad, because we used to enjoy playing here.

The course was a disaster for the last few years, but they have made some investments into the irrigation system, and the course is coming along. However, the fairways still had several areas that were not in good shape (hard pan, with dormant grass). The greens were very inconsistent with very little grass and not very receptive to approach shots, some greens were very quick while others were much slower. There were several areas just off the fairways that were just dirt and not really playable. No idea why all golf courses don't adopt the colored flagstick approach (Red for Front, White for Middle, and Blue for Back of green) there was no rhyme or reason to the pin placements and did not coincide with the info and diagrams on the scorecard, which made it very difficult to judge distance in on approach shots. Overall, it was a very average experience and certainly disappointed to pay $85 for a course in that condition.

This is easily the worst course in Arizona for the price point and conditions. Showed up an hour early so that I could warm up and then the starter person that checked me in and won the locals playing in the same team time as me forced me to move up early, so I did not get to use the bucket that I paid for so basically I wasted money and then was completely cold coming out of the car and started playing probably the worst condition golf course I’ve ever seen in my . This course would only be worth it if it was about $25 with a cart and you just treated it as if you were going to the range but instead went play an 18 hole golf followers.

Overall the course is not in great shape, except for the greens which I would say are consistent and challenging. The fairways are decent but there are a lot of dead areas. Overall value for this time of year is still great, the outside service and beverage cart teams were outstanding.

A lot of dirt and rough grass other than fairway. Play was slow. Almost 5 hours.

The fairways were in poor shape and hard like rock the greens were ok and the tee boxes need some work they are in rough shape. When we arrived back at the cart drop off it seems as if we were in the wrong spot. We did not know that there was an automobile road that runs onto the golf course NO SIGNS indicating this, a car went through fairly fast and splashed myself and our carts. Th employee that was cleaning the cart yelled at us saying we were in the wrong spot that we were on thee road. I got a little upset and raised my voice to him saying that there was no indication that this was a road, the only sign I could see is that the carts were not allowed in the parking lot. The course needs some work.

I just flew in from Chicago and made my 2:30 tee time. I golfed alone for most of the day and played with a couple on ghe last few holes. I found the greens in great shape, especially in this 92 degree heat that apparently was early and in place for over a month. Fairways were fine as were tee areas. I had a very relaxing andpleasant afternoon. I think you will enjoy the course. Cartmen and staff were all friendly and helpful as was bar staff.

Maybe not the best course I have play but for the price it's best bang for your money.Will play it again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pace of play was good. Greens, bunkers, and tee boxes were in decent shape. Fairways were thin in some areas. Rough areas could be cleaned up by removing tree debris. Beverage cart service was excellent.
