About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Fun Round
We had a good day. Grass was nice and green. Kind of thick for the fairways. Plenty of space for new golfers that may drift left or right.
Greens were challenging. Lots of slope and contour, so the putting was put to the test.
I'm guessing a lot of folks only play 9 holes as we had the back nine to ourselves - no pressure or rush which was great!
Seemed like a good value for the money.

Desert Sands is a good time.
The course is walkable for most, about 4000 yards. It's a par 65 with many par threes some short par fours and one par 5 about 450 yards.
The trick here is that almost every green has a hill that makes putting a little challenging but fun.
There is nothing pretentious about this track, it is just a nice fun course for a reasonable price.
Give it a try, maybe even break out your hand cart, it will be worth it.

Unsatisfactory
Course condition of grasses was very poor. Tee boxes were chewed up. VERY flat and unimaginative. Sorry.
40$ for 9 holes
Got charged 40 dollars for 9 holes even though I booked a 25$ 9 holes through golfnow.....
Golfing in Mesa
It was a great day for golf course was in pretty good shape a little dry not much hazards an easy course for a highly skilled player but good for your short game and good for my wife because she doesn’t hit the ball very far and she could do 18 holes it was a bargain price in Arizona canine ask for much more would highly recommended this course for any buddy who wants to work on their short game it’s ideal the greens were quite tough because everything is like a basketball you have to be within A foot of the pen to have a shot otherwise they all tend to roll away but just made you a little more accurate

It was a relaxing nine holes and great to be able to use a variety of irons.

Little Kids
The foursome behind consisted of 2 Children about 2, and 4. Running between the houses, yelling etc. T boxes not level. Cups not cut into greens correctly, not flush with the green.

1st time here
1st time here...was a gong show to get on the course ..no communication. We were there early and ready to go...had to sit and wait. Not entirely sure what was going on.

Horrible Staff
Every golfer can look past a bad course and have a good day but when the marshal and front office are equally horrible. Usually is my winter course and is 5 minutes away, now I gotta to somewhere else.
Great value and a quick round
This time of year is when this course is best. It's affordable - we paid less than $40 for a Friday morning tee time, and the course was fun and in great shape. One of the better values in Mesa.
