About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Bad conditions
Like most courses right now this place is bad. Not much grass in the fairways it’s just dirt at this point. They said they are drying it out to overseed. I normally play here but will look elsewhere for about a month and then come back.

Bang for your buck
Best course for your money if you are a new to intermediate player. Shorter course. Can be played in 3-3.5 hours. No sand traps and only a couple water hazards for the new players.

Course is a little rough this time of year. It is a desert course.
Play is quick and goes well. Short in yards but plays well for the average golfer. No sand traps and two water holes. Easy layout.

Friday golf
The fairways honestly were horrible. Most of the tee were extremely dry, making it difficult to push in your tees. For the difficulty the course is good. Most of the greens were in good shape and the somewhat fast. We played this course for practice and to improve before our charity golf tournament. I will play this course again because I like it.

Still better than AGR
I think it’s great that they have a greens keeper that understands the importance of keeping a playable surface even in the rough. The dormant grass is far better than no grass.. There are spots of course, but it’s end of summer and it will happen. Unlike AGR that killed all their grass on the first 100 degree day of the year.
It’s not the best course, but with water limitations, you can see they care and try to have a playable surface.

Great course, incredible value
If this course were in central Phoenix or Scottsdale, it would cost twice as much for the quality of the course. The tee boxes and fairways are maintained beautifully and the layout offers a nice amount of sand and water hazards. There are a few greens that need some love, but that would be my only complaint
