About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Friday golf
The fairways honestly were horrible. Most of the tee were extremely dry, making it difficult to push in your tees. For the difficulty the course is good. Most of the greens were in good shape and the somewhat fast. We played this course for practice and to improve before our charity golf tournament. I will play this course again because I like it.

Still better than AGR
I think it’s great that they have a greens keeper that understands the importance of keeping a playable surface even in the rough. The dormant grass is far better than no grass.. There are spots of course, but it’s end of summer and it will happen. Unlike AGR that killed all their grass on the first 100 degree day of the year.
It’s not the best course, but with water limitations, you can see they care and try to have a playable surface.

Great course, incredible value
If this course were in central Phoenix or Scottsdale, it would cost twice as much for the quality of the course. The tee boxes and fairways are maintained beautifully and the layout offers a nice amount of sand and water hazards. There are a few greens that need some love, but that would be my only complaint

Good first experience
It’s the end of summer which is tough on the grass, but they have done a good job of keeping a playable surface on the course. Far far better than Arizona Golf Resort.
We only played the front 9 and the holes were kind of short, but for my wife and I as new golfers it was great for our skill level. We were a bit worried about holding up play with our skills so we played scramble to keep moving. The people in front of us were beyond slow. The starter tried to move us ahead of them but the guy I demanded they go first. They took 5 shots to reach the green on a 165yd par 3, then 3 puts once on the green. On a par 4 they were in an oncoming fairway picking up other players balls. They were a gong show after being a jerk to the starter. Not the courses fault, just fun to write about it.
The up side to the gong show in front of us was after the first 3 holes my wife and I did not feel like we were holding anyone up and we could relax and hit more of our own shots.

Could be better but good for price
Good price, and good pace of play it could have been better it seems like the regulars on the course disregard some of the regular pace of play rules. 4 some in front of us would drive around looking for their balls for the minutes then sat in the middle of the 18th fairway stopped and had a full conversation with players on the 11th hole.

Rough conditions
The greens were nice. The rest of the course was rough, not well maintained. There are no amenities at this course. Great price .

Spectacular Greens
It had been awhile since I played Desert Sands. I took a friend of mine who had never been there we thought the course was excellent and the greens were amazing. We had a blast and will definitely return.

Good course
I like the course. It's kept in good condition. I would say that the prices are "good" , but not great. I can't say enough about the staff. They are always very friendly and helpful.

Best Value course
For the price, it’s really hard to be Desert Sands. Solid amount of par 4s, course is in pretty decent condition, staff is friendly and it’s never too busy. It’s my go to value course in the Valley.

This course was in very good condition for summer months. No one else was playing due to heat. We’re just thankful they are open.
