About
Located in Mesa, Desert Sand Golf Course is an executive length course with a short layout that is most suitable for beginners, but it is also a good place for golfers of all skill levels to work on their short game skills. Due to its flat terrain, the course is easy to walk with few elevation changes. The greens are remarkably fast and water hazards come into play on five holes. There are also sand bunkers scattered throughout the course. The Desert Sand Golf Course facility offers a chipping area and putting green and it is also home to a golf school.

Aerated greens
This course has the toughest greens in the East Valley because they are pitched and difficult to hold. Now that they have all been aerated and sanded, it’s very difficult to get the ball in the cup. But worse than the condition of the course, was the behavior of the foursome in front of me. They were playing a scramble but they were unbelievably slow, rude, and crude. Loud cursing and inappropriate language that was demeaning to women was their normal. Too bad that they gave their league such a bad reputation.

Great affordable course
This course has always been my go-to for sharpening my approaches and putts. This may not be the most challenging GC in the area but the elevated and sloping greens make for great practice, also has an accessible driving range, and the staff here is always friendly. Love Desert Sands!!
