The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Summer conditions....Great shape

1st off, I love Pete Dye courses. For summer conditions, this is a steal. Some brown spots and some minor refurb zones.

Mid week in the heat, open course. Finished in 3 hrs 15min

Fun time!

Played RMCC yesterday. Great and quirky layout, way different than the usual desert course/suburbia course.

This was one of the few that actually kicked my butt, not a lot of forgiveness from off the tee even if you’re a little off. Scoreable though if you can keep it on the green stuff, longer than it looks from the tips. Would def play again especially for the summer prices.

Great condition in the dead heat of summer as well, greens were soft but rolled pretty okay. Fairway was great for summer, obviously desert for the not green stuff. Would be a great match play course

Challenging but not a killer

It was a very nice course with enough challenges but not too hard. Fun place to play even in the heat. Be sure to check restaurant schedule so you can eat before or bring snacks. I’ll definitely go back!

Surprised by maintenance

5/5 for layout, staff friendliness, pace, amenities… but there was no notice for the course-under-maintenance. I even called before my tee time to check, but nobody picked up. About half the fairways are aerated, and I would have gladly booked a later date. Hopefully they put up a notice on GolfNow or their website. Otherwise a fun course.

East Valley Top Pick

RMGR is one of my favorite courses, beginning with friendly staff in the pro shop through pace of play and value for my money. Course is in good shape given summer temps now averaging over 100°

Challenging course with elevated greens

Went out as a single. Played 10 holes in 90 minutes. Green fee playing 3somes and 4somes all gladly let me play through and were friendly. Caught up to a 4some of Members. No way they would even consider letting me play through. Terrible golf etiquette, made worse by pulling their power carts up to front of green (no blue handicap flags) and made no effort to promptly clear the green after finishing their putts. Clueless, inconsiderate senior members. Don’t rake bunkers either.
