The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Course was cart paths and greens/fairways a little slow due to over seeding. Otherwise a very nice track.

Enjoyable round.

Course was in good condition. Overseeding had been completed and fairways were in great shape. The greens were a bit long and slow as a result. The course was not busy so pace of play was excellent. Definitely a fun course to play with plenty of interesting holes.

First timer at Red Mountain

A very nicely laid out course. Suggest upgrading the carts to electric with GPS. Gas motors noisy & not as environmentally friendly. Like the desert 🏜️ scape roughs for water conservation. Would okay here again.

Nice layout and course design

This was my first time to play and really enjoyed the course. While I played during the overseeding process, the course was in great shape and the green (slow right now) putted pretty true.

I liked the visual setup the course with a good mix of carry and fairway positioning, particularly on the shorter holes as one would expect. The green have a lot of undulation and terraces so approach shots need to be thought out (which I hope to do the next time I play). Missing the green can cost you a few strokes due to numerous grass and gravel bunkers to elevated greens. During the round, you will have some uphill/downhill lies so you "may" have to a variety of shots, which made for an enjoyable and testing round.

Cart/bag staff was very friendly and engaging and added to both a great start and finish to the round.

Look forward to playing again.

Ice course with a good layout

This was our first time playing this course and we were impressed. The fairways were a little dry, but expected due to the recent heatwave and the time of the year. The greens were in excellent shape however.

We will definitely come back and play in the cooler months as we feel this will change the dynamics of this well Kaye’s out course.

Last day before overseeding.

When making reservations, they should have indicated that they were ready to overseed, and that the fairways had not been watered.

Also, since the carts did not have GPS, they should have indicated that we should have brought our own distance devices (which I had; my playing partner did not).

First time playing.

This was my first time playing this course. The Pro shop guy was helpful and informative. He gave me a course book since it was my first time there. I played from the blue tees (don't judge me) and had a good time. A twosome went out in front of me and they were playing slow, but they waved me through by the second hole to which I was extremely happy. The front 9 is flatter and easier than the back 9. The course book gives you a good idea of where to go to stay out of trouble. I could see why this was a private course for so long. It is right in the middle of a very nice upscale neighborhood. It has tennis, golf, swimming pools and a restaurant. I did not get to partake in any of the other amenities besides the golf. If I lived in the area I could see becoming a member. The wind made the course a bit more difficult, but not outrageous. This course designer likes deep pot bunker and high ridges. He also favors having mogul type hills throughout the course. If I had known about the pot bunkers I probably would have brought my 60* wedge. The greens are a bit odd. They did not roll very well. (IMO) The cart guy told me that they are about to go into transition so that might have been why. Fairways were mostly good although there were a few thin areas. The 17th green seemed a bit gimmicky to me. It is raised steeply like an Island in the sky and from the fairway it is hard to see the surface. One other thing of note: The carts are fairly slow. At first I was wondering why. But, after I saw that some of the cart paths are buckled and uneven, I understood. You don't want to hit one of these unaware and at speed.

Nice course

Was our first time playing this course , the greens and fairways are in good summer condition. The cart paths are in rough shape and the overall maintenance of the course needs improvement. The staff we encountered was excellent.
