The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Too many too much

This course asks a premium to play. We started 20 minutes late then waited on almost every hole. No course Marshall anywhere to be found. I’m just guessing they push groups out and hope everyone can actually finish their round.

Conditions were OK but not a value for the money they are asking.

Buy some sand

The fairways are well tended. The areas just off are almost always straight clay. Greens are slooooow, long and shaggy. The summer grass non existent so good luck getting under a ball off fairway

Biggest peeve- put sand in your bunkers. They are a disgrace. For a CC its disgraceful. I looked at potentially joining in November and sure glad I didnt. What a waste. They are almost clay pits.

Twosomes stacked on top of each other and sitting around. At one tee box there were 3 groups all waiting to tee off. It wasnt the first hole.

I wont play here again ever

Tuff shape

Course was in tuff shape. Played this last year a couple times and was in a lot better shape then. Would not pay 110.00 again to play it.

Great layout, Terrible Conditions

Layout was awesome, a great variety of holes. Condition, however, was very poor. Roughs, greens, fairways, all could use a lot of work. This would be a 5 star course if they just took care of it.

OK

This is a Pete Dye design so expect two tiered greens and deep bunkers. Course needs more water as fairways were borderline burnt out. Greens were in good condition. Course manicuring was lacking since I last played in 2020 and cuts in maintenance were obvious. This course layout does not accomodate walkers due to extensive distances from some greens to next tee boxes, and the walkers we played behind slowed up pace of play. Course marshal was ambivalent about it. Service at bag drop was non-existent until end of round when they were sniffing around for a tip to pretend to wipe down clubs. It would be a great track if they get the fairways back to being green instead of light brown. The only green fairways were 9 and 18 which are the only ones visible from the clubhouse.

Layout fun

Severe bounces that affect outcome. A few times ball hit middle and took hard left or right and actually go into desert with either unplayable lie or lost balls. Played with individual familiar with course and stated grounds have been lacking proper care.
