About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.

Nice course
What a surprise in the flatland of the desert. This course was very challenging. Bring plenty of golf balls. Only downside were the drunks we were paired with. They really slowed down the game.
Decent value
Course was in decent condition...much better that in previous years. The front nine is difficult...bordering on unfair at times. Be prepared. The 5600 yards tees played fairly long. If you don't hit it 250 plus off the tees, do not play the 6700 yard version. The back nine was more fun and a lot less work. All on all, it was a good day...4.5 hours, as we were behind a slower group.

Watch your booking!
Played this course a few days ago as we were passing through town. Had an early tee time so we could have the afternoon to lounge around before continuing on our road trip the next morning. Totally my fault, and I didn’t realize until the staff at the bag drop said it, but I’d purchased a tee time that was the back nine only. They were so busy they could not accommodate my group with the other nine holes. Where we live there is never an option for only nine holes, and yes the price I had paid was less, but I had chalked that up to having such an early tee time…. So just use caution when getting your tee time online. Turns out my nine hole purchase came with breakfast and it was delicious!! Figured it would be a pastry or something to carry onto the course, but it was served to us in the grill after our round and we were able to choose any menu item we wanted. We ate and then hit the driving range for some practice. All in all my tee time purchase mistake wasn’t that big a deal for us. The course was in good shape and we had fun. The greens were great, but be warned that they are really narrow, so accuracy is important when approaching them. Would definitely play here again.

Good Value
For the price we paid, the course exceeded our expectations. Fairways and greens are in very good shape as of right now, however come bad lies in certain spots off the fairway and some poorly maintained greenside bunkers. There are also some flaws in the course layout, and can see how it could get backed up. For us it was a standard 4 1/2 hours which was good for a Sunday afternoon. We didn’t see the beer cart on the back 9 and the coolers were all empty. Overall, we had a good experience and would return again.

Good Course
Good course, slow play due to slow group in front of us. Course should have had Ranger to inform group ahead they were a hole behind so we could finish before dark.

OK, but not great
Course was rough, but some of that attributable to recent weather conditions. Sand traps need improvement. Staff was very courteous & helpful....loved the on-course warm cookie delivery! Slow play, some of which was due to "cart path only" as a result of recent rains & poor drainage on course.

Overpriced for ok course
The course layout is interesting and the staff was good. Pace of play was poor and we started 30 minutes late, too. Course conditions were just ok. The combination of pace of play, average course conditions, and price result in a below average rating.

First Time in Phoenix
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course had area of trash that were on the curse from heavy rains and geese flocks were a nuisance. The course was very playable for 14 handicap player

So Much Potential
Really nice track from a technical and topographical perspective but doesn’t hit this potential due to neglect and disinterest. Lots of standing water, poor drainage, washed out bunkers, garbage. They flipped the two nines a year ago so my GPS watch was off all day. Over 4 1/2 hours to finish. Only option at the turn was a six minute wait for a burger. Cook the patties ahead of time, I won’t mind. And why do the guys in the shop say “ you’re all set, you paid on line” and send me out the door without offering range balls (which are extra)?

Golf cart GPS
This was brutal today….had to push the cart multiple times in areas that were less than a foot away from the fairway.

Due to our presence in a flood basin, our low lying areas will hold water for a few days following rain in the are. We will look to better direct guests away from these areas on days like these.
Slow play and late T times
Had 1:08 tee time but didn’t tee off until 1:40. Slow play and didn’t finish 18 because of darkness
