Painted Mountain Golf Club
About
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Good Day
Played on Aug 17, paired with two younger guys who were very polite and matched our type of play! Most tee boxes in fair shape, fairways surprisingly better than most courses for summer, rough conditions were typical hard pan, and greens were running slow probably due to recent watering. Cold water stations noted, beverage cart came by, and the ladies restroom was finally updated sort of! Staff was great! Overall the course looked better than the last time played.
Excellent Summer Course Conditions
Both outside staff workers are great. They are very helpful, genuine and truly want you to have a fun day on the course. The pace of play was great-just over 2 hours for the round. Not many on the course at noon. The course is in very good shape considering the extreme summer heat. The greens rolled true. The fairways are in great shape. No complaints about bare spots. It is something that can't be said about other more expensive courses in the valley. Keep up the good work. I'll be back soon.
Not disappointed
Played 4 ball with two carts with my three teenage sons. Visiting from UK. We stay with family in Scottsdale and normally play the wonderful Eagle Mountain or Ancala CC. Researched Painted and it appeared good value. We were not disappointed. I have played alot of courses over fifty years. Painted is fun, in good condition, especially most of fairways, surrounds and greens. There is length here but you feel you have room to hit fairways. Very enjoyable.
Great Course
The Arizona summer heat can kill most course but painted mountain is always a fantastic course that I always love to play year around.
Course in decent shape
Course is in solid shape (especially for this time of year in az). There’s some spots that could be better, but for the price I felt like this was a good deal. Only real gripe was the greens. They’re in the process or aerating/dressing, but the greens that had been dressed hadn’t been rolled or anything, and the few that hadn’t been aerated were still extremely slow and bumpy.
All in all, not a bad deal for the price, but would’ve been nice to use a range.
Played on July 10 and the pace of play was very fast on a hot day. The staff are very helpful, and they genuinely want you to have an enjoyable round. It's that time for working on greens. Some greens were nice and some were punched & sanded. The fairways were in overall decent shape. For the price, it was okay if you're not a stickler for these conditions that last for a couple weeks. I like the layout. It provides for variation among the holes.
Rude Staff
Round started off great with an employee letting us group 6 people together since no one was playing behind us for a few hours.
Get to the golf cart return and another employee comes out berating us for going slow and playing with 6 people. This is the second time I've been spoken to rudely at this course. They seem to think they are a high end club and not a below avg AZ course.
Don't play here.
Soko Review
Course was in fairly good shape. Many trees on the course need trimming. The greens were well taken care of. Tee boxes need more attention. Very nice layout Play was very smooth.
