Painted Mountain Golf Club
About
The Painted Mountain Golf Club is a challenging desert-style course with a variety of different tees to accommodate every age group and skill level. The course offers a lengthier challenge from the first hole, a par-5 dogleg right, to the last, which requires an approach shot over water in order to reach the green. The Painted Mountain Golf Club, in addition to the course, is also home to the John Jacob's Golf School.

Better than last time
We had 2 rounds booked at Painted Mountain for our annual Girls Golf Trip. While we were disappointed the first time, it was a bit better the second time around. Knowing the course helped and the staff was much friendlier and helpful. Pace of play was still on the slow side. Still keeping PM off our list of courses to play.
Painted Mountain
This was our first time playing this course. We tee’d off right on time and pace of play was perfect. Greens were true and fairways were in good shape. We stayed for a drink on the patio - a nice way to end the day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will play it again next year during our annual trip.
Long Round
We started late because no carts, then back up on every hole and 5 1/2 hour round 🥵
Painted Mtn a good deal for the $
Had a 0700 tee time, starter let us out early,. Very fast play, finished in about 3 1/2 hours. Course conditions were excellent, fairways and greens in great shape, lush. Greens are the course defense, length from white tees is not huge. Nice layout, a very fun play.
Slow
If you are looking for a 51/2 hour round, this is the course.
Hot and cold
We played Painted Mountain for the first time with our ladies golf trip. When we arrived, a member event was just finishing so there was no where to put our bags at the bag drop. We unloaded the car and found an area, but not one of the gentlemen in the starters booth even made eye contact with us - too busy flirting with the members. Finally they let us know that there were no carts available, and when they finally brought carts up, no assistance was offered to load our bags. However at the end of the round, the cart guys were very polite and helpful with loading the car.
The course itself is fine for the price we paid. Greens are in good condition, tee boxes a bit rough, and if you are not in the fairway, there are a lot of area with gravel/sand. None of this particularly bothered us as we are from Alaska and have played much worse!
The pro shop is very nice - almost a gift boutique with a wide variety of products. Mimi in the restaurant was delightful and the Friday fish fry was well done.
We will play the course again as we’ve already booked a tee time, but we are taking it off our list for future trips.
Fun course
We really enjoyed this course. The greens and fairways were in great shape. Affordable course we weee very pleased about the condition
Slow play ( no marshals poor fairways needs water and gtooming
Expectation Management
After reading the reviews, I went to golf knowing that play would be slow. Typically golfing in the afternoon affords more novice players a chance to play at a more reasonable price; therefore, if you are intermediate or better, then pay the higher green fee and go out earlier. I am an intermediate player and chose to save some money, enjoy the random people who I get paired up with, and the nice Weather. Yes, there was a lot of waiting and the round took four hours and 45 minutes, yet I was mentally prepared to play slower and enjoy the game and course.
