About
The golf course at Las Colinas Golf Club stretches over a gently, rolling landscape sprinkled with over 2000 cottonwoods as well as various other native grasses and plants. The greens are separated by ribbons of desert washes, where golfers sometimes catch glimpses of local wildlife. Although the golf course is not as demanding as other championship courses, the layout features an interesting variety of holes that requires precision from every club in the bag. The course offers a challenge for all skill levels with doglegs and lakes coming into play on some holes. Located in the growing community of Queen Creek, Las Colinas Golf Club has become a popular choice in the Valley.

Las Colinas Golf Course
Granted we played during overseeding, but the greens were the worst I've played on in many years. I don't plan to return.
Ok for just opening after overseeding
Course is a nice layout with friendly staff, good driving range. They clearly opened too early as the greens are in tough shape. Fairways are ok, getting better each day I am sure.
We enjoyed our round and like the layout, give it a few weeks to get the greens going and it will be a super track.

Played after overseed
Fairways were ok greens were very bumpy but value was ok.

Slow to recover from overseeding
This course’s condition was a big disappointment. Very little grass on the greens, actually more sand than grass. Fairways and tees were only slightly better than the greens, not good. It appeared the course started play after overseeding too soon. Would not recommend this right now, but maybe in 2-3 weeks it might be more playable.

Poor course conditions
The course just came out over seeding, but the course was nit ready for play. Fairways were patchy at best with reasonable grass. Greens were absolutely terrible with with mostly dead grass. Over seeding lines still on every green. This course was simply not ready for play. Avoid it for a couple more weeks.
Over-seeding Season
It’s over-seeding time for most courses so keep your expectations about course conditions in check. We decided to walk since it was cart path only but clearly, many riding didn’t care about that. Greens were sanded over but again, has to be done to prep for the winter. Overall, staff were friendly. Not sure what all the fuss was about in the previous reviews. Good times overall. Will be back.

Staff Concern - Dont lose Ross!
I play this course probably 25 times a year maybe even more. Idk where Ross has been but that guy knows how to run the shop and also be friendly with the golfers especially “regulars”. Some new guy has been in the shop the last 2 times I been in there as well as talking over the phone and I feel as though I’m inconveniencing the guy calling or showing up.
This course is solid because it’s a good deal to play here and generally in good shape most all the time. Not to mention friendly, and familiar (when Ross is there) I’m not griping about overseed but whoever this Scrooge is in the shop tell him to kick rocks and give the hours back to Ross or someone Ross trains.. another time or 2 and you won’t see me spending money there. Part of running the shop is having people skills and this new dude probably never heard of that

Rude pro shop staff
Pro shop staff was downright rude, yelled at my friends and I for only showing up 15 minutes before our tee time and then proceeded to take a phone call for 5 minutes while we waited to pay. After getting off the phone the pro shop worker laid into us again for ONLY being there 15 minutes early. Fairways were dead, bunkers had a ridiculous amount of sand in them and the bathrooms on the course were locked. Terrible experience, do not play here unless you are an hour early and enjoy being yelled at.

Overseed??
Course is preparing for overseed, so the fairways are in rough shape. We had much better lies in the lush green rough. Greens are very bumpy,and tee boxes in bad shape too. When we asked what their overseed schedule was, the starter told us they close for three days. What??? How can seed take if golfers are allowed to play while it's trying to grow. He said it would be Cart path only during the process. This and Apache are the only courses that do this because they have the same ownership. We'll stay away for a few months and see what the reviews look like.

Overseeding Underway (while on the course)
Now is not the time to play here, given all of the equipment in use to dethatch, mow and blow the fairway grass, in preparation for the winter rye planting. Course was in total disarray. Front 9 greens were in need of TLC, whereas those in the back 9 were in much better shape. Pace was 3:25 walking. Give it a month and I am certain it will be in very good shape. I will consider playing here in the future.

Worth the drive
Spent some time trying to find courses that had not started their overseeding process, found it!!! Course was in beautiful shape. Green fairways and smooth greens. The beverage cart came by regularly and was friendly as the shop crew. If you can make the drive, it’s well worth it.

Rude
As usual the staff at Las Colinas are very rude and not so friendly. The guy mowing the tee boxes right behind us would not idle down or stop while we were hitting. We finished the front 9 in 1 hour and 56 minutes and the Marshall told us we were a tad bit slow…..the staff at this course need some lessons in manners and politeness!!

Course improvements
Greens are in great condition, a little slow. Did a lot of work on the sand traps overall condition of the cars was excellent

Great Condition, Challenging Course, Fun Place, Great Staff
This is my home course and I have given it positive reviews about 15 times. Close to my home and love it here. Staff is always friendly. Cold water at every 3rd hole. Beverage Cart Drivers are always friendly and beer/gatorade prices are more than fair.
Played as a single today with two other very nice people - I just met today. Always meet nice people here. Always a great experience. It was about 108 degrees today so, yes it was hot outside but the course was in great shape for this time of year and and played great.

Slow
They pair a single with a 3 some only to be followed by a father and son twosome followed by another twosome. This is why it’s so slow. No rangers to help with pace of plays. I love the course but can’t waste all day to play 18.
