TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course

Friendly staff, started on time. Pretty average course conditions, I expected better from a TPC course. Cart girl spotted on #2 and then #13. Poor timing. Didn't see a bathroom on front nine. Had holes designated as cart path only on par 4s that were perfectly dry. No idea why but it was a pain walking across each hole over and over. Would not play here again.

We were on a five hour pace of play and we’re told we were 10 minutes ahead of pace. Waited on every tea. The GPS fencing on the golf cart stopped us several times during the round and finally we had to reverse back to the clubhouse. We were done with that crap after nine and were told they would not credit the second nine because we were 10 minutes ahead of pace. I definitely would not recommend this course!

Truly enjoyed my round at TPC Champions. Course was in excellent condition. I was a single and fortunate enough to ne paired with a regular Mark. Her shared some course pointers that shaved a few strokes off my game. Best round of gold during my week in Arizona. Service after on the patio was top notch.

Love playing TPC Scottsdale Champions Course and will always come back when I’m in Arizona. Love grabbing a drink after golf at the outdoor bar but sometimes very hard to get the attention of the bartender that we’ve had the last few trips. They ask what we would like to drink and then move on to another customer before getting the drinks that we ordered from them. It’s happened a lot and it’s kind of frustrating but if that’s my only issue then not a big deal

This was my first time playing the Champions course. What a great venue. The staff was amazing. I will be back to play the course again.

After four rounds of golf at various courses; all rated 4.0/5 or better, the round at TPC Scottsdale - Champions course was simply the best. It wasn’t that the conditions of the tee boxes, fairways or greens were so much better than the rest, it was more about the desert rough areas were being more manicured and landscaped with trees, bushes, rocks, plants and water. These features kind of framed all of the separate holes. Some of the holes were straight forward and others gave opportunities to attach the greens from a couple of different angles. I just felt very comfortable playing this course and glad I added it to my four rounds. Pace of play was decent at 4Hr 10min. Good driving range and putting green but didn’t see a chipping green. Use a coloured ball on the first hole as many white range balls make it to the fairway. Beverage cart was around several times during the round. The only drawback is the number of planes coming in over head for a landing at a local airport. It was pretty much nonstop. Didn’t affect our group but I can see how it might distract others.

Overall, the course was in great shape and it was fun to play although each time we play it I think overall it’s overpriced for the course.

It is an enjoyable round on this layout, especially if you haven’t played much lately. The disappointment was the greens. They seemed a little chewed up. I appreciate the time of year might be a factor, but I’ve have here previously at this time of year and thought the greens were in better shape.

Manicured perfectly, great pace of play, Greens weren’t exceptionally fast but fair.

Booked a tee time on Golf Now a day or two before we played the Monday of Waste Management. My buddy had the prescient idea to call the pro shop and ask about how to get to the course in case of road closures. Turns out, we were supposed to park in Lot 7 (a Marriott hotel located adjacent to the furthest part of the course from the clubhouse), and be shuttled in. We never would have been able to figure that out on our own, and would have never made it to our round on time if we had not placed that call. Additionally, it was a shot gun start, which we had zero notice of either. I have encountered other situations like this after booking via Golf Now in the past, and the course always reached out to share these important details ahead of time. Quite disappointed that this course was too busy to do the same.

Playing the TPC Champions course which is the sister course to the WM TPC Stadium course was truly an unforgettable experience. Especially since it is the same week of the start of the WM championship. which was won last year by Canadian Golf Pro Nick Taylor.

The Champions course was a very enjoyable golfing experience.and I would highly recommend it. My wife and I were also lucky enough to be joined by 2 singles who were real gentleman.

I got paired with 2 others who were super friendly and fun to play with. We were first off the tee in the morning so we were able to cruise. Finished 18 holes in 2hrs and 45 min. Course was in great condition and layout was a lot of fun to play. I would definitely come back.
