Scottsdale Country Club - The Championship Course

We enjoyed our round at SCC, as we were allowed to play as a twosome and kept pace with the duo behind us. Even with a foursome ahead of us, we finished in three hours. Sand traps are pretty hard, and many of the fairways are bare or have minimal grass. We were hitting off hard ground much of the time and weren't out of bounds. The maintenance crew was busy all over the course, trimming, watering etc .... distracting, but didn't hold up play. The weather never hit 100 degrees during our round, and a nice breeze blew much of the way, which added to our enjoyment. We are getting back into golf, and this was a perfect course to try without a lot of pressure or too challenging for our level.

The course conditions were horrible. Fairways are primarily dirt offering no reward on good drives. Approach shots from fairway dirt are also not ideal. Spend the extra $10 to $20 and play other nearby courses.

Most of the greens were ok, not great but of. The fairways are terrible, if you like playing in the mud then this course is for you. Very little grass in the fairways lots of bare spots. Pace of play was good.

Not the best. Fairways are bare, not much grass. Greens are decent. Tight course with houses and roads on most holes. If you get it for $40 or less otherwise pass.

I play here a LOT. Course is in the worst shape I have ever seen it. There is NO grass. Greens were good.

Aside from the seasonal attempts to aerate the fairways, even those without being worked on were poor. Greens need attention, fairways dead and dry while other areas on the same hole were flooded and muddy, this being the rule rather than exception. This course has real possibilities if someone took pride in it

Ownership blames it on the previous owner, but this course is in TERRIBLE condition. It's summer in Arizona --there's no excuse for not having Bermuda fairways growing right now. The fairways are blackened Earth. You could hit a grade A drive and be hitting off of deadpan. Worse if you want to take a drop off of the Blackend Earth there's really nowhere to go because so much of the fairways are Blackend Earth.

For 50 bucks in June that's a semi-fare bargain. I would only go on this course again if I could play it for 20 bucks or less. In addition to the terrible fairways most of the tee box were rock hard. The lady in the food truck at the turn was absolutely delightful. The check-in staff were friendly. We really didn't get any positive vibe from the young men working the cart and club drop off area. So all in all I would say save your money and pass on Scottsdale country club.

1st time playing this course. Staff super friendly-signage was a little confusing-nothing we couldn’t figure out! Definitely want to play it again!

I have 100+ rounds here. Course is not in great shape but playable. Greens are good

Fairways and tees pretty much awful. Greens pretty good. Looks like they are starting someone course work in a big way. Also why the green fee was so low. I would not play it again until the fairways and tees have been addressed.

This course has gone downhill lately due to lack of maintenance. Most fairways are brown grass that has dried up due to no watering. Occasionally you can find a patch of green but that is far and few between. Greens are generally OK and tee boxes are average. Better Play/Netter Conditions for less $$ can be had at Silverado, Continental and Orange Tree. Do not recommend this course at this time = Not worth the price of Admission.

The greens were very fast. The fairways still had aeration holes but improving. The water was deep, couldn't even see my ball! :)

Friendly & helpful staff, very good driving range with covered hitting bays, a beautiful new large putting area, the greens are in very good shape, however fairways have bare spots with little to no grass, other courses with better fairways are available for a similar price, with that said it's okay to play if you get it for a low price and not overly particular about fairway conditions

This place should be ashamed of themselves for charging anymore than 40$ to play here. Course conditions are terrible. Worst fairways I’ve seen in a while. All torn up. I see they’re charging 80$ for this weekend. Should be punished for that. Scamming people. With “Scottsdale” and “country club” in the name you expect something way way way nicer than this junk box

Range us awesome. Trackman data at every hitting station. Greens were in good condition and that's where the good ended. Tee boxes and fairways are more dead and bare than living with grass. Was tbe same way last year. Could be a fun place to play, but not so. Don't waste your time or money here to play golf. The range is the only worth while part.
