Scottsdale Country Club - The Championship Course

Played the Kings, oh my gosh, major course renovation..in terrible shape right now..don’t waste your money until fix up is in order!!!

We had a great morning playing first T time the first Hole was a shock as they were repairs going on. But hole one was the only hole we faced with repairs and if you can hit the fair way you were in grass I was not but course for the money was worth playing. Make sure you grab drink at the bar as we did not see a beverage cart at all.

I have played this course before during the summer months and was aware the condition could be a little rough, However, this time the front 9 of the course should have been closed. It was terrible and practically unplayable. The back 9 was at least playable It would have been better to play the back 9 twice and skip the front 9.

Not in prime shape BUT--Good summer golfing value, the greens are in okay condition with putts rolling on the slow side, the fairways, like many other valley courses, are brown or bare in some spots, fairways #1 & #6 have major portions sodded which were previously quite bare, a cold water should be placed on the back nine at the broken water fountain station, the staff are very friendly & helpful, it was a 3 hour round of golf, there is a nice covered driving range with a trackman screen

This is hands down the worst course I’ve played in three years!! We quit after 9 holes! I have played this course a half a dozen time and it has always been crap. Paradise Valley golf course was better!

Three of the 9 holes were under construction, we literally hit into tractors, grounds crew and sod that was dying. The fairways were terrible, the grass was all weeds and crab grass. No cart service, no starter, no ranger.

The only positive was the girl working the inside bar and the pro shop staff. Oh, and they have a nice driving range.

I do not recommend this course to anybody.

I have not played this course in several years and it will be several years before I play it again. Hard to find any grass on the fairways. Greens were ok, but slow.. it appears they are trying to sod some areas(roped off), but not putting much of a dent in the bare areas.

Very unfriendly staff outside helping with clubs/carts. Very unfriendly gentleman checking groups in at hole 1. Set the tone for the day. We will not return to host clients. Despite the course and weather being ideal, the people working here are not great to first time visitors.

Hardly any grass in the fairways. Some standing water. Very slow greens

No fairways to speak of - just dirt and rocks. Most greens are OK. Plenty of water in the lakes but not being used. Staff said no water until overseeding in Sept = Not Cool. Better conditions can be found at Biltmore, Silverado, Continental and Talking Stick.

Save Your Money - Play Elsewhere!

I have played this course many times over the years, but not recently until now. The condition of the course currently is terrible. The fairways if can call them that, are patches of crabgrass and muddy dirt. The greens were the only silver lining and were in decent condition. I will not be back.

Course not in great shape. Lot of hard dirt fairways. Staff excellent.

We enjoyed our round at SCC, as we were allowed to play as a twosome and kept pace with the duo behind us. Even with a foursome ahead of us, we finished in three hours. Sand traps are pretty hard, and many of the fairways are bare or have minimal grass. We were hitting off hard ground much of the time and weren't out of bounds. The maintenance crew was busy all over the course, trimming, watering etc .... distracting, but didn't hold up play. The weather never hit 100 degrees during our round, and a nice breeze blew much of the way, which added to our enjoyment. We are getting back into golf, and this was a perfect course to try without a lot of pressure or too challenging for our level.

The course conditions were horrible. Fairways are primarily dirt offering no reward on good drives. Approach shots from fairway dirt are also not ideal. Spend the extra $10 to $20 and play other nearby courses.

The survey is not letting me give 1 star.
