Best Staff Around

My first time to Scottsdale and I picked this course because it was near my hotel and the price was incredible relative to what I was expecting to pay for golf in Arizona. As far as the course goes, there is a lot of real estate and I would not walk this course. The holes were not difficult but they were creative and nothing boring at all. Shot 69 my first and only time here and I’m hovering around a 4 handicap most of this winter if that helps. But THE BEST PART of this course is the staff. Really, went out of their way to accommodate my elderly mother who wanted to come see “whatever it is I’m doing all the time” haha. They even let me take a full cart even though they were booked solid all day with no carts to spare, so that my mum could ride along with me for a few holes until she her toy dog got cold and scared of my driving. Every staff member I met was so warm and welcoming and really made this game I love so much SHINE for my mum’s first exposure. She said, “Is everyone always this nice in golf?” I said yes, however we’ve all been to those courses where it seems like you’re an inconvenience and the service is subpar. So my hats off to the staff here and thank you so much for making my first (far from last) AZ golf trip a massive success!!

Great course/layout but SLOWWWW!!!!

Pretty tight course. One side always flanked with houses. Not a driver course imo unless you can hit middle of fairway every time. Played the tips, fairly short from there. Greens were meh. I blame the 8 minute separation in tee times and people not fixing divots. Two foursomes of girls in front of us(played with my wife and daughter so I’m not bagging on females on the golf course) that being said they had no clue. 3 carts for 4 girls and as I could tell they were all friends that came together so I don’t get it. One girl was driving her cart on the “fairways” of ALL par 3’s. No ranger on site and we waited on every single hole on every single shot. Since the course wrapped through a community you cannot see farther than the green of the hole you’re on so I had no idea if they were being slowed by groups in front of them. Spent $262 for 3 players on a 1:58 tee time hoping to get in 18 before sunset. Only got 9 holes in 2:45 minutes. Called it a day.

Don't Go because it's SLOW !!!

Just pass on star fire - GC management do not know how to operate and maintain pace of play.

unless you want a 5-6 hour round - this is a a definitive NO.

Great Course for everyday

I play Starfire about 2-3 times a month. I rarely have any complaints about the quality of the grounds, or services. The staff are friendly and the place is pretty consistent overall. If they are running deals or low rates, it can sometimes get a bit crowded, especially because it is in the middle of Scottsdale, surrounded by much pricier courses. However, the Marshalls will do their best to keep a good pace. I will continue to play this course frequently and suggest it to anyone looking for a quality round for $80-$120.

go anywhere else

For $90 a person should get GPS on the cart, not here. No rangers after 1st hole, 5 hrs with 90 degree rule - incredibly slow. Beer was $5 so that was a plus.
