About
When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.
The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its
Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.
Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Golfer Reviews
Overall a good experience
Always good to see marshals on the course. They seem to want to keep things moving. We played in 4:20. Not great, but have experienced worse.
Course was good, just finished over seeding.
No GPS on carts. If you don’t know the course and don’t have an app with the course layout, you’ll have issues.
Front Desk Staff Rude
We haven’t played here in a few years and so thought we would take advantage of the GolfNow promo. Have to say the staff’s friendliness has not improved one bit. Primarily inside at the counter when you check in. The starters and range staff are usually very friendly. the fairways were very thick coming off of over seeding and the greens were extremely slow.
Conditions are Excellent
The course was just opened after over-seeding. It was in great shape. The only downside was cart path only but all AZ courses do this after over-seeding for about 30-days. Greens were nice but on slower side.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating fast. We were 7 minutes behind group in front but the group behind us was at least a hole behind and the ranger asked us to speed up. Being cart path only we didn’t think it was that bad since we didn’t hold up the group behind us. They were nice about it but thought it was overkill
Again, if you want a great experience, this is the course to go to in N. Scottsdale or in Maricopa Vounty for that matter. Enjoyable round, great conditions and staff including cart girl were awesome! Highly recommend.
Legend Trails
This the best public accessible course in the Phoenix Metro Valley. Great staff, facility is in excellent shape. And a fun challenging but fair golf course. Highly recommended place to play!
Dessert fun!!
Amazing round of golf at legendary trial. Course was in great shape and the staff was super friendly! Full send
Great course!
Had a great round, beautiful course, had to target the best shots and placement. Grass was perfect, greens a little hard to read, but course was in great shape. Will be back again-
Getting ready for overseed
The course look like they are getting ready for overseeding soon. The fairways are cut low and are mostly brown dry grass. The greens were stripe cut which made putting a little bumpy. The course has a lot of character so it is still fun and difficult. Make sure you pick the right tees for your game. Someone earlier in the day did not and caused a huge backup for everyone behind them. We booked 2 hours after this group on a fairly open day and still hit the log jam by hole 6. It was a slog through the rest of the course waiting on each shot. The ranger was seen driving around multiple times, but did not do anything to keep pace moving. Sad. I understand the the course does not want to make people mad, but that one group ruined the day for SEVERAL groups behind them. Which is better? Upset the group causing the problem or multiple groups that have to wait on them. The math is pretty easy. The staff was excellent otherwise. The cart guys, pro shop and starter were all excellent. I booked through golfnow and had no issues with anyone. The range was mats again. BOOOOO!!!! I hate the mats.
Horrible pace of play and no staff watching players
Unfortunately I will be stopping my play here.
While always a great place yesterday was horrible w pace of play and lack of rangers moving play and letting carts all
Over the place
Lovely course, great value
Really enjoyed this course. Most tee shots are desert landscape carries, but doable. Course conditions great, electric carts so no jerky start up, great staff all aspects of concourse conditions were great. Clubhouse a bit pricey, and no beverage cart on weekdays. Layout incredible with some surprises on a few holes. Good amount of sand and water. Lovely homes line this links course. Highly recommend.
Excellent experience
Good smooth greens. Fast pace of play. Nice fairways with only minor hot spots. Play it before overseed!
course great. worker in pro shop not to friendly. don't think he liked we booked on golf now
Horrible Clubhouse Treatment
If you’re on GolfNow this course doesn’t welcome you.
WOW
What an absolutely wonderful course. The course conditions were pristine, the greens rolled pure and the views were spectacular. Got done in a little over 3 hours which is great. Everyone was super kind and helpful and they have a bunch of space to practice and warm up before your round!
Desert layout
I keep revisiting Legend Trail for the layout and the beauty of the desert.
