Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

This course was not what I expected
I always heard this was THE cheap course to play at from friends back in college but never had the chance to. This was before it was bought out and became grass clippings. When it first opened up again I saw tee times were close to $100 which made me a little perturbed that it got price gouged like that, but I was wrong. They charge premiums for night golf as they installed lights around the whole course, but your daily and morning play is actually still fairly reasonable, especially when you get the tee time day before/day of.
I’m relatively new to playing golf and I’m proud to say I only lost about 3 balls on this course. Some holes are not forgiving whereas others are incredibly rewarding.
Never should be worth 130 at night
Honestly if this wasn’t on YouTube it wouldn’t even be played. Don’t even waste your time. Play it one time and you’ll see why.
Playing in the Dark
In Arizona playing at night is perfect. The weather was nice as we teed off at sunset and the lights lit up everywhere your ball should be. The vibe of the place with the music playing on the speakers everywhere was fun and made for a great experience.
Fun and challenging
A really fun and challenging par 3 course with a great layout.
Challenging holes
It make you play consistent from one hole to another. Most have excellent ball placement. I enjoyed playing here and I recommend friends to play here.
Fun course!
Good course, grass is well kept. Tee boxes are a little beat, but you can shoot off the turf if you want. Couple of greens are a work in progress. Finished in 3hrs just before it got hot. Haven't played here at night yet.
Poor course condition and odd tee time management.
I have played this course a few times since it became a lit course, and while the upgrades to the facilities have been extensive, the quality of the golf course at present leaves a lot to be desired.
At 118 dollars for a evening round, with no driving range open due to renovations, and no putting green open due to maintenance you would expect good course conditions. Tee boxes were the worst I have seen, needing to hit of mats, as there was literally no grass left. The few fairways there are are in terrible condition. The green were in poor shape, either sandy, very bare or very slow and full of ball marks. They also put people playing 9 holes in front of us on the back 9 after we had finished the first 9, meaning a very slow second half of the round..
Great concept and great lights, but they need to fix the course or drop the price.
Great Value
Delightful par 3's and par 4's course. Sure helps to sharpen up a short game...
