Coronado Golf Course

About
Coronado Golf Course is as excellent place for golfers to work on their short game and it is also great for beginners. The course is relatively flat making it pleasantly walkable. The greens are large and the fairways are lined with trees, but still have generous landing areas. The holes are quite challenging with water hazards and bunkers coming into play. The relaxed atmosphere and affordability of the course have made it popular among locals, yet the course is still surprisingly not crowded most of the time. Coronado Golf Course has convenient practice facilities, including a lighted driving range that stays open until 9 every night.

Worse Amount of Money Spent for a Golf Round
There’s only dirt between the tee box and the greens. The greens have pot makes in them. The course itself is a bit confusing and you can get stuck going right from hole 2 to hole 6 because there’s no signage. It cost $50 to golf there and I wouldn’t have paid $15 in hindsight. Just hit the range. It’s still bad but much more affordable.
Dump
Place is a joke but us cheap. A couple holes you hit out into a dirt lot.
simply put: worst golf course on the planet
i'm fairly certain that the usmc enjoyed better conditions in both battles of fallujah.
truly a stain upon the great state of arizona.
unless you enjoy hitting off dirt packed so dense tony soprano would have wanted to get his hands on this cement...find a different track
Scruffy Course
Unfortunately they do not water the fairways, which means you have holes that are dirt from Tee to Green. I hate writing a bad review but an honest opinion is important so that you know what you are going to experience.
Is grass an option?
When booked tee time actually thought I was booking for Continental. More dirt than grass on the course, water hazards cesspools, no drinking water, and no ball washes (I guess not enough grass to stain the ball). It was a quick round though (played 9 holes in a little over an hour). Can't imagine what the course is like in the summer.
Dust bowl with no course markers
Fairways are no grass , just hard dirt
At least in Saudi they give you a piece of turf to hit off of to protect your clubs.
No markers on tees or holes . another group was about to hit off of 3 tee to 8 green but I pointed out they were about to hit the wrong way
For beginners or kids
Was good for my wife since she is a beginner golfer. Fairways are dirt so if you're looking for nice conditions, don't play here. There's a reason it's only $18 cash for 9 holes. None of the holes are marked so listen to instructions where to go next.
Fun practice
This is the Motel 6 of golf and that’s not a bad thing. You get a fair round of golf for a fair price. Easily walkable (pull cart). Winter conditions include dirt on the par-4 fairways… patchy grass green-side. Numerous areas of “ground under repair” and muddy irrigation heads. Just move your ball… we’re playing for fun and practice. Greens aren’t pretty but roll just fine. Goose droppings on greens 6 and 7 make putting difficult. For the GN price I’ll play a practice round at Coronado again and again.
Driving range is lighted for night practice. It faces south so the sun can be a factor. I like that you’re hitting off grass (patchy as it may be) instead of a mat. I often go just to hit a quick bucket.
There’s no “19th hole” but O’Sullivans has a patio that overlooks the back side of the course.
Lost
The course is friendly for new people it's directional markings are no exsistan following path is difficult as tee boxes not numbered.
The course it's self needs work some places very dry whilst around Greens some boggy areas.
It was a nice walk.
Nice course for the price. Mostly dirt with some grass. No sand in the bunkers? If you just want a practice round of golf, this is the perfect place. No frills.
Coronado
Unfortunately most the course was in poor condition. Not impressed with the fees associated with playing, couple with cart fee $18. Would have been nice to be given a heads up on condition of course. Would have walked off after second hole if it weren’t for my young son wanting to keep playing, his first time out, wish it could have been more memorable for him.
Hello, ShamRick. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Coronado Golf Course.
