El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
About
The Canada Course plays through forests of mesquite trees, offering a parkland atmosphere amongst a desert landscape. The natural terrain snakes through ravines and arroyos, providing several natural hazards. Considerable mounding, doglegs and elevation changes provide a varied layout, making club selection an important factor in addition to careful strategy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The course’s signature hole is the eighth hole, considered one of the toughest par 3s in Tucson. The hole requires players to drive the ball uphill along a narrow ridge between two Saguaro cacti, and canyons border the greens on both sides.

Typical of course condition Photo submitted by DARoyer on 03/29/2013
oro valley resort course
played this course many times, enjoyable round.
however, it did take me a couple of rounds to dial back my shots on certain holes for shots. scores are better with 3 wood for precision placement. hard to leave the the big dog in the bag sometimes distance is not the advantage. best to play with someone who has play here before.
Course in Great Condition
The Canada Course was in excellent Shape and was a pleasure to play.
Canada course after overseeding
Hot deal for $23. Greens were slow compared to other courses I played on this trip. Fairways were in good condition. Rough was spongy with new and dying grass. Carts allowed on holes except #1. Good solid course.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We're glad you had a excellent experience.

Professionalism from top to bottom. Having played the Duke the day before and having such a bad time, I was absolutely pleased with the round I got to play here today. Thank you 1 and all
Thank you for spending your day with us. Our team strives to make everyone's experience here an excellent one. Make sure to visit us soon when both courses are open.

For coming out of overseeding the course is in really good shape. Greens are medium speed but very puttable.
Thank you for your review. Cañada has certainly improved this year. Conquistador will open on the 27th of this month from overseed and is looking better than ever. Be sure to come back when both are open.

Great course everyone is very nice and welcoming the staff creates a relaxing go at your pace environment. Lots of regulars that you can tell enjoy the course and the facilities, definitely will play here again!!!
great greens
Troon has done a great job here.
The greens on the Conquistador side.were as good as I've seen in Tucson
Still need work on the fairways but all in all this is the best shape it's been in for years.
I say this begrudgingly 'cause this course always kick's my butt and did so again.
Great Value, Great Pace of Play, Very Tricky
New management has certainly improved the Canada course greatly over the past year. I was surprised to see how well the course has grown in. Its summer conditions are extremely competitive with the best Tucson has to offer right now.
The course is challenging, utilizing great elevation changes and narrow fairways to make a rather short course from the black tees, play difficult. I always recommend first time players to move up a full 300 yards from their normal distance, as the fairways are very tight, and have desert hazard all around, meaning that driver (or even 3 wood) is often not the best club off the tee to attack the pins. The greens are very fair.
Range Balls are included with the greens fees, making this a great value. Especially if combined with one of the many Restaurant combos now offered through the summer.
Pace of play is fantastic, if not too fast. My threesome finished in 3:25, and was passed by 2 twosomes.
There are lots of water stations on the course for you to refill a water bottle or cup, though restrooms on the back nine are only on the way to 10 and the 15th tee.
Sadly, this is not a walking course. But it sure is a fun course to play with some great spots to take some pictures of the Catalinas.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We are glad that you had a great experience. We hope to see you back on the course soon.

Very good value for an OK course
This was my second time playing the Canada course, and I definitely prefer the Conquistador course. The Canada course is less-than-attractive at its lowest elevations (e.g. old fences, sandy washes) and it includes a number of uphill holes to raised greens that I don't really enjoy. But with all that said, I played 18 holes in 3 hours and the price was very reasonable. One added benefit, the practice facilities are excellent, and are included with your greens fee.
Thank you for your great review. Look forward to seeing you soon.
