El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
About
The Canada Course plays through forests of mesquite trees, offering a parkland atmosphere amongst a desert landscape. The natural terrain snakes through ravines and arroyos, providing several natural hazards. Considerable mounding, doglegs and elevation changes provide a varied layout, making club selection an important factor in addition to careful strategy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The course’s signature hole is the eighth hole, considered one of the toughest par 3s in Tucson. The hole requires players to drive the ball uphill along a narrow ridge between two Saguaro cacti, and canyons border the greens on both sides.

Typical of course condition Photo submitted by DARoyer on 03/29/2013
Not as expected - not so good
We had to pay additional 40 USD (!!!) per person for renting clubs (on PGA Golf West Palm Beach they ask 45 USD and mostly we pay 25 USD. This was OVERPAID! The guy at the golf shop there also did not want first to give us the package (free balls etc....) and if we did not ask twice he would not give us even the water (in Arizona this is a must and it WAS in the prepaid package mentioned).
The golf course is between the town homes, too much spread (long distances to go by cart between 2 holes with not so nice/picturess views as expected/seen on photos.
Too slow - 4 -4.5 hours by cart (waiting and waiting....).
The location was strange - not at the hotel resort as expected. It is 10 min driving...All around and between little golf course homes, even you drive along the hiway and on the pavement (if this can be called "pavement" next to normal car/trucks.
Much improved
The course has almost returned to its former excellent condition. It had fallen on hard times but now that Oro Valley has taken over it is in very playable condition. It is still a little rough around the edges but the greens, fairways and tees were quite nice.
Course is in good condition.
We had heard so so reports about the course but we were
Pleasantly surprised. Good experience and the staff was very friendly.
Course in Good Shape
The course was in good shape. The pace of play was a bit on the slow side, but not bad for this time of year.
El Conquistador
Ate lunch before tee time. Staff was very friendly. Course was in good condition and had fun playing.
Fantastic
Great course. Perfect condition. Had a great time and will play it again in the future. Anyone considering this course will not be dissappointed.
Challenging layout, well maintained
Terrific views of Catalina Mountains, a good number of holes with notable elevation change. This course is quite scenic and well-maintained, especially the greens. Fairways are "hittable". Drink cart encountered twice during four-hour round. Pace of play good with 1 pm start.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. Glad to hear you had a great time. We look forward to seeing you back out soon.

Nice Track in the Foothills of Dove Mountain
We had an enjoyable round, good pace of play, tight fairways but a very fair course. Nice elevation changes. The green's comprised of Rye greens, and they were very slow, but in good shape.
Good course but slow play
Try to play course before 12 slow play afternoons. Ask for yardage book really helps for layups and understanding fairways nuisances. Nice to have range and practice areas close to the two first holes Overall condition of fairways, bunkers, greens are good. Go for the pork sliders in clubhouse after round.
Good Course - great price
I've played EC several times lately and like everything about it. Except maybe that the guys at the club drop are a little too pushy. I know they are trying to be friendly and helpful but I keep my clubs clean and prefer to take my clubs out of my car and not have some over enthusiastic guy trying to rip them out of my hand. Maybe get rid of those guys? Otherwise, great!
oro valley resort course
played this course many times, enjoyable round.
however, it did take me a couple of rounds to dial back my shots on certain holes for shots. scores are better with 3 wood for precision placement. hard to leave the the big dog in the bag sometimes distance is not the advantage. best to play with someone who has play here before.
Course in Great Condition
The Canada Course was in excellent Shape and was a pleasure to play.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course. We are glad you had a fun day. We will see you soon,
