El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course

Never disappoints. Pace was smooth as the weather was iffy, but it turned out partly sunny and warm enough for short sleeves. The course layout is especially fun to play with numerous elevated greens for all levels. The greens were also in great condition, but not a break to be had! We'll do it again soon!

The course is in excellent condition staff super friendly the pace of play great play this course if you get a chance well worth it

The fairways were in good shape but the approach areas at the the greens and the greens themselves were in pretty rough shape.

I don’t think Troon management would let this happen at the Dunes. I would not recommend this course. Just glad I did not pay full fees. The greens and areas of the course where terrible. They said it was because of a water/irrigation issue in June. I don’t understand why the greens and other area of the course are still so beat up. I am a resident of Oro Valley and i would never recommend the course. there are too many others that are better maintained to play. Funny that the only holes that are maintained can be seen from the road.

This course is trying to come back. It's not bad at this time. Now they are shutting it down for over seeding. When it comes back it should be really nice. I looked at the Conquistador side which they put bent grass, I think, but it looked really good. Most of the time, for me they charge to much. The starter was extremely friendly and helpful. I had a great time. It was fun.

And if put mor technology in the golf car, much better

But overall everything was great

Greens were horrible. Mix in some seeds. We had to take the 2 putt rule on several holes due to the terrible condition. A shame since we left several what if birdie opportunities.

Lots of bare areas including greens.

Sad to say that the greens on the Canada course were very poor. The fairways and rough were playable. I would not recommend playing the course either during this time of year or due to poor course management.

I played this course in the winter what a difference the greens are in real bad shape except #17 the only one that had good grass. The fairways were ok. also the cart girl should be out their more often and not be leaving at 1 o'clock . the Price should be adjusted for course conditions.

The course should be closed. The greens are diseased, burnt out, and putt worse than the desert floor. They are unplayable .No kidding. A decent lie in the fairway is nearly impossible. Asphalt paths are all broken up or washed away. The course is a great layout and used to be first class. It is now in major disrepair and should be closed until playable.

At this point, I cannot recommend the course. The layout is great, but due to weather conditions, lack of monsoons, breakdown in a pump, course has taken a hit in conditions. Greens and fairways are in bad shape. While I was out there, many maintenance personnel were working on the course. After talking to Eric the new head pro, I expect over time that the course will be in much better condition. A new head groundskeeper was also brought in, these changes will be a big help in seeing improvements. Additionally a new pump is being built by rainbird, and should be in. These items will definitely allow for big improvements down the line, along with maintenance to the irrigation system. The bunkers were in excellent shape, and due to the lack of play, pace was excellent. Keep this course in mind, down the road.

If they drop the price, or you can get a hot deal, give it shot, just currently do not expect much.

I have played this course going back to it's early days in the mid 80's.During the years I have seen plenty of up& down times at the club, it has hit rock bottom. The course has be taken over by city government and being managed by Troon Golf.I would have to say for a Troon Golf project it is far from their standard that you can always depend on.One would have to be leave the Muni is killing it for future plans of the land.To bad great track!

THE 2ND HOLE GREEN IS A PATCHWORK OF DIRT, SAND AND BURNT OUT GRASS. TERRIBLE CONDITIONS ON MANY AREAS OF THE COURSE. IF THE CITY OF ORO VALLEY DOESN'T MAINTAIN THIS COURSE IN BETTER CONDITION IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

This course use to be a very good course but now the conditions are terrible. Drive down the middle of the fairway and your on bare ground. Greens are in terrible shape also. Sad the course is in such bad shape.

The green fees were good- Summertime (hot).

The fairways and greens were not kept up (dry, dirt, different types of grass). This might be due to it being summertime.

Used to play here a lot but haven't in about 8 months. Paid $18 and was not worth it. I would not play here again if they paid me to. The course conditions are the absolute worst I have ever played in my life! Since Oro Valley has purchased the course it has been on a steady spiral downward.
