El Conquistador Golf & Tennis - Canada Course
About
The Canada Course plays through forests of mesquite trees, offering a parkland atmosphere amongst a desert landscape. The natural terrain snakes through ravines and arroyos, providing several natural hazards. Considerable mounding, doglegs and elevation changes provide a varied layout, making club selection an important factor in addition to careful strategy. Golfers should be prepared to use every club in their bag. The course’s signature hole is the eighth hole, considered one of the toughest par 3s in Tucson. The hole requires players to drive the ball uphill along a narrow ridge between two Saguaro cacti, and canyons border the greens on both sides.

Typical of course condition Photo submitted by DARoyer on 03/29/2013
Nice Track
Nice course overall. Pace of play was initially slow until we jumped ahead of a slow foursome. After that, pace was great. Fairways & greens were in good shape for this time of year. There are several very long drives between holes so this course in not walkable.
Overall Great.
Overall it was a great experience. Course was very well maintained. Which is saying something considering the time of year. The only down side is the lack of a beverage cart on the course, and water should be available at at least every other hole. I will be making another tee time there soon.
More the same.
Unfortunately - the condition of the greens do vary here. Some times they are fine and others, like today the greens were very shaggy.
To the point where if you flew a 7 iron into the center of the green it was hard to find your ball mark. The putts did not roll true and it was very difficult to read the speed on any putt more than 10'. It makes scoring very challenging.
If you want to play a competivie round and try to score - I would not recommend this course because you don't know what you will get with the greens.
Course in good condition !
Was impressed by the new cart paths great update !!
greens are failing!
typical day at El Conquistador. Staff is friendly, amenities are good, tee times are on time, pace to of play is good. Only bag thing right now is the greens are in bad shape. They have been very slow all summer but at least they were smooth and consistent me Now there are big brown patches and why would the ground crew cut a cup right in the middle of a big patch of bad green?
La Canada is really fun
Great shape to play this course! Well maintained and really fun.
Excellent value and really a challenge.
Horrible course
For a troon manged course they should be ashamed. Greens were slow and burned out and the cups haven't been changed in days. Fairways were cut uneven and burned out also.tee boxes haven't been cut or divots filled. Not worth the money or the time. Would not recommend playing there to anyone.
