About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Will play again.
I have been trying out the smaller executive courses for family coming into town. Out of the four I have tried, this one is the one we’ll be playing when they come into town. It has a variety of pars, and enough room that if you’re a beginner, you’re not worried about hitting someone’s house. Pace of play was good. Had a couple groups slowing down play but not terrible. Value for the money is outstanding. Was able to capitalize on a hot deal, so that helped as well. Played as a single but grouped up with two other singles and now have new golf buddies to play with. This course is worth the try and finished 18 in under 4 hours; had plenty of time to run errands after. There are some spots that need to be touched up but all playable and the greens were in great shape for the most part.

Love this course, good value and challenging holes
Great course
Had fun, greens are finally settling down after having been aerated. Pace of play was great 3.5 hrs for 28 holes. Everyone is so friendly at this course

Great value
Love this course, it can be challenging, nice an flat and can easily walk all 18 holes in about 3 hours if no one ahead of you. Fairways are really narrow on some holes. Highly recommend this course
Great course and value for a tound
This time of the year, this course is the best value in Tucson. Course is in great condition. Great to walk as it is nice and flat.
Nice course but bunkers are like concrete
Course is in good overall shape considering the triple digit temperture. But the bunkers are truly awful . Like hitting off a cart part. Charge a little more money and put some nice sand.
Hot but bearable
Course was in good shape overall for this time of year. Fairways still had green grass and very few brown spots. Greens were fast. .Bunkers were hard. Pace of play was good. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Fun course but its getting crispy
Fun course. Its getting hotter so it a challenge to keep it from getting crispy.
Windy Adventure
Course layout is very good, but the wind took its toll on all players. Fairways were in good condition, but very wet in places. Tee boxes needed some attention with dried out spots noticeable. Greens could be better as they had questionable speeds and were somewhat bumpy overall and hard to read.
Nice course
Nice course. Every one in the staff was nice and helpful. Had a nice afternoon pace was a little slow but it didn’t matter. Didn’t realize how close it was to my home. I’ll absolutely be back
