About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Golf course is in bad condition. Extremely wet, hasn't rained in weeks. Greens were rough, ball did not roll, it bounced. Bunkers are concrete.
Save your money. Play elsewhere.
Needs improvement
The course needs considerable improvement in many areas. Specifically greens, bunkers, rough around greens.
This course is playable but you will disappointed if you expect any more than slightly below average conditions.
Good Conditions
Course was good in the fairways and greens were a bit chewed up. Not sure what the deal is with the greens but I saw alot of ball indentations that have not been fixed and so the roll is not true. It takes away from the overall lovely course. It is beautiful there in the mesquite bosque and right next to tanque verde wash. Lots of wildlife around though I didn't see anything this time. The driving range is on mats only which is ok for warming up but not that much fun for practicing. Did not see a practice green. Price was very affordable but I'll look for a better course to play next time.
Okay
Staff excellent, pace of play good, price reasonable. Course not so good. Some greens horrible as was some fairways. Most bunkers had water.
Nice Course, Friendly Staff, etc
We played this course for the first time yesterday. I would describe it as a mostly flat golf course. It is laid out nicely among the houses that line the fairways of the golf course. Golfers have a nice distant view of the nearby mountains. The course was well-maintained. If you hit the ball without a hook or slice, you won't get into trouble that often lead to getting double bogeys or worse. The Pro Shop staff and landscapers maintaining the course were all friendly and helpful. We will plan to play this course again sometime.
What a Day
The sun was shining. The birds were chirping. The Palm trees were blowing in the breeze. Missed putts, didn’t matter. Missed fairways. Didn’t matter. It’s a great course with people starting with the nice people inside and they don’t get any better than Kenny to hook you up with the first tee. Enjoy the day.
Great value course
The course played well and will be even better in a couple of weeks when the overseeding takes full effect.
Worth the money
The course is still not fully grown in after overseeding but is still in good shape and looks like it will be wonderful in a couple of weeks time.

Golfed with the wife and she beat me again! Love this course.

Golf at 49ers
It is a very nuce course, has lots of shade- that’s a big deal in the95 degree heat. Pace is always slow cuz it is very busy ( about 15 minutes a hole) But It is very fun and I always meet great people
