Slow Play and Rough Conditions Spoil the Round
Crooked Tree Golf Course has potential, but unfortunately my recent experience fell short. The biggest issue was the pace of play — it was painfully slow. We waited on almost every tee box, and the round dragged well past 5 hours with no marshals in sight to keep things moving.
Course conditions didn’t help either. Fairways were patchy and uneven, and bunkers looked more like hardpan than sand traps, and some tee boxes were nearly bare.
It’s a nice layout, but with the lack of upkeep and poor time management, it just didn’t deliver a good golf experience. Might be worth it if conditions improve, but for now, I’d look elsewhere.
Solid track
Good value and a solid track. The variety of shots needed and great practice facility make this golf course worth your time and money.
easygoing staff
The course was in good shape. Greens were in excellent condition
This course is extremely good value for the price
Greens
A little shaggy and slow but course was in relatively good shape. Ground under repair areas need to be better marked. Allow better access to shade trees especially at 11 and identify water for drinking better

The round was good. Only played p holes, the sun and humidity was too much.
Very good for a city course
In comparison to the other Tucson City course, this course was in better condition, kept tee times in line, pace of play was reasonable.
Golf at Crooked Tree
Course was in great condition. No beverage cart. Price for summer play was still a little high. I would not play the course in the winter, to costly.
Slow stimp, healing greens
If anything, Crooked Tree is a Golf Walker's dream...no excessive elevations hampering the stroll, however a few holes do have some elevation working up or down to the green. This was another enjoyable stroll escorting my MGI Zip Navigator hauling my clubs around the course.
This week, the greens were still healing from being punched and sanded. It was maybe a 5 on the Stimp.
The maintenance crew is doing a great job guiding carts to stay on paths so some areas are not overworn from Tee to Fairway.
The pace of play was quick, and we finished in 3:45.
Nice track for the money
I was able to play the course on my own as it was a weekday and in June. I did join up with a friendly twosome for some holes. Fairways, tee boxes, greens were in nice shape. Bunkers were all grass rather than sand. They are working on some of the holes but it didn't affect play much, I just dropped my ball on the grass nearby.
AWESOME!!!
Great place to play. Everything you need at a course. Highly recommend to everyone.
Staff didn't recognize GolfNow payment and tried to get me to pay twice. Otherwise, experience was really positive. Great "bang-for-buck." I'd recommend coming back here other than going to other more expensive courses because you get the same experience here. Grass was watered.
Nice Course!
Great course to play. Course fairways and greens are in great shape. Greens are a challenge to putt. I highly recommend everyone to play here for the price. Also range, practice putting and chipping areas are perfect to perfect your game.. They make it easy to pay and get range balls. Also great bar area and to grab a snack to munch on.
