Good Time
The staff was very friendy and informative. The course was not in great shape due to being in the process of re-seeding. We were well aware of this at the time because it was posted on line when I made the reservation and they also explained it in detail when we arrived. We were told that if we didnt want to play we could back out if we wanted.
I am looking forward to pkaying in the future when the re-seedind is done.
Not a real exciting course
Pretty straight forward course with not much character.
3.466 star
5-6 really nice holes and a few not so nice holes. would recommend only if you're getting a good deal. $25 or less for 18 holes with cart. sand traps are all rocks. they all need to be dug out and filled with sand!
Crooked tree
Good course for the price, greens were in excellent condition. Person inside was great, got me out early, played as a single and zipped on through.
Good for starters
This course was very beautiful and full of wildlife. If you're barely learning how to play or if you're experienced you'll love this course. The fairways are wide enough that you don't have to worry about losing your ball. There are 2 fun challenging par 3 that are directly over water so make sure you have a couple water balls. There wasn't that manny people there so we never encountered people waiting on us or us waiting for anyone. We encountered several friendly squirrels, rabbits, prairie dogs, quail, and big lizards so make sure you bring a camera. The staff I think are better then when we were there but they seemed a little stressed with the high amount of phone calls. Long story short this is a course I would recommend to every caliber golfer and need to be played at least once in your life.
Always a good outing
as always , good course, great staff and will continue to visit Crooked Tree. . thank you..
Great day
I am not a resident of Tucson. I graduated from UofA many years ago and we lived in Arizona for 20 years before relocating to central Florida. We visit Tucson for two months in the summer and play lots of golf in the area. Crooked Tree is one of my favorite courses. In fact, I play with the men's association every Thursday and Sunday. The course is in great condition and provides a suburb challenge with every outing. There has never been a time when I have not enjoyed my round at Crooked Tree. Food and service on the beverage cart are always excellent. Staff members are very helpful and quite pleasant. Can't beat Crooked Tree for a great day on the course.
Playing Crooked Tree
My wife and I played on a Sunday afternoon. There were no crowds, but there were quite a few families using the excellent practice facility. A fair number of twosomes and a few foursomes playing. This is a very nice course to be found in the desert. There are six holes where water comes into play or is very nearby and can be a problem for errant shots. We found the greens in great shape even though they had been aerated a few days before. Fairways in fine shape, too. The lady at the grill was very nice and found the food to be excellent. We used rental clubs which were not the best, but we made do with a Hodge-podge of various kinds of clubs. Overall, I would highly recommend any golfer or golfing group to check out Crooked Tree for great value, convenience to the city of Tucson and a beautiful course with some awesome vistas.

Gangs
Staff rude! But what was worse was we were followed around by three twenty something men. They had golf carts and clubs, however, these young men did not play golf. Instead followed us around course. At times would stop behind us, talking loudly. Once they picked up my golf ball, another time drove in front of us as my husband was getting ready to hit. It is very scary to be intimidated in such a manner. Staff did not respond. We will never recommend this place!
Solid Tucson Muni
Tucson, for the most part has a pretty solid lineup of muni courses. Crooked Tree is one of the first ever "desert style" courses ever designed. Conditions were overall pretty solid. Greens were in good shape, fairways and rough were decent. The layout is not the hardest one you're going to find, but does have it's challenges. Overall, a solid choice for most golfers.
Great Course
Great Course but generally other players are very slow. This course is a 3.75 hour maximum in carts and we took 4.5 hours.
Terrific muni
I don't know how they do it, but this course is always in great shape. Other greens keepers should come for lessons. My only complaint is the muddy bunkers this day, but it beats the hardpan of prior years. Greens were excellent, a little slow, but not cut so short they will burn up.
Hot but bearable
Got an excellent rate due to the Hot time of day on a Monday. The course was virtually empty so we 3 were uninterrupted and finished in 3.5 hours. The fairways were plush and the greens were true yet slow. Though it rained the day prior, the bunkers were fluffy desert sand.
Fun Course
I'm a new golfer. While I've already played at a few of the best courses in the state I throughly enjoyed the course. Good course for me as I continue to develop mygame.
What a wonderful course.
As a nature lover and golf enthusiast, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the course was in outstanding shape. I look forward to my next round here!
Would certainly play again.
Played on a weekday morning. Went off at 6:30 to beat the afternoon 100+ degree heat. Course in great shape, greens in excellent shape. Pace of play was great, three and a half hour round. Well worth the money spent, will certainly play this course again.
Good to Play
The course was in overall good shape. The weather was not typical Tucson weather, it was hotter than normal. Play was a little slow, so that made the temps even hotter. Nice lay out. Good day overall.
Country, near the city
Nice course, would play again. water, bunkers, tough t shots
very good public course
Fairways in very good condition. Greens were a little bouncy because of recent airiation.Overall a nice place to play. Pace of play was great.
