Highlands Reserve Golf Club

I’ll start on a positive; Ed the ranger who had to reprimand my Wife and I, twice, was very pleasant and made the uncomfortable conversation telling us what we were doing wrong as comfortable as one possibly could. The two stars are for Ed. Negative; my wife was just a ride along, she doesn’t play. This is the first course I’ve played that charges $20 for a passenger. I’m not complaining about paying the fee, just noting that this is the first time I’ve had to pay it. Moving on, my tee time on the app was 14 minutes later than what they had in their system so I got a later start. This worked out to my advantage because it put me at the end of the line with the next group not starting for 2 hours. Now, my wife and I had to put our dog of 12 years to sleep last night, so this pressure free round was exactly what we needed. She drinks her jug of mimosas and I play. I had plenty of time to warm up with no one behind us, so I threw a handful of balls down. I start going through trying different clubs since I had this rare opportunity of time to start. My wife asked if she could hit a couple, she’s been thinking about picking it up. Since we paid the fee, I thought that bought me at least a few swings for someone stressed out from losing a pet and having paid for her to sit and be my not so designated driver. Nope… they were watching from the pro shop and sent the ranger out. Ok, broken rule, understood, and Ed was cool. Moving on; I’m playing awful cuz, you know, dead dog. Take the loop onto hole 6, now there is someone on 5, who quickly caught up to us. First drive off the tee slices hard right into 5. I tee up again and hit within my limits. I asked my wife to check for my first ball. The guys behind us were playing, so I asked her to wait until they pass where she would need to go as not to interfere with their round, which is exactly what she did. After I hit my second shot onto the fairway, slightly right, I went over to check for my sliced ball once more. Mind you, well away from the guy behind me. Finish and on to the next. We caught up to the group ahead, they were 4. Now we see the ranger again, I think he’s just patrolling. Asked if I’m hitting all over, I joked yeah cuz of the slice. He starts talking about a complaint, now realizing he’s serious, he explains that the guy behind called in and said “WE were hitting balls all over the place”. She was not playing. My wife asked if we’re getting in trouble for just being bad at golf. Guess that’s what it is. The douche behind us as it turns out lives in the community and thinks he’s the mayor. Ok. Fun ruined, thanks guys. To the guy who was in such a rush, I hope you never hit below a 9 again in your life and that you break your favorite club today. Ed was cool, but the rest of the snobs around here can smell my something.

We won't be going back to this course. Grass was very burnt and the greens were very thick and slow. Fairways were brown and burnt in a lot of places. Not too good!

The course was in very good condition. It’s a fun run to play, very forgiving. A couple of tee boxes could use just a little tlc, otherwise great. We will be back, very good course and the price was reasonable.

First time player at Highlands and i will be back many times to come. Super friendly staff , encouraged us to start early since booking was slow for day due to heat, pace of play was great at 3 1/2 hours for a threesome. Fairways in great shape. Beautiful greens , deff rolling slow but at pace. Water stations and bathrooms are located thru the course. Overall great course with a fun and challenging layout.

Greens are in great shape and roll true. Fairways and tee boxes are good. Sand traps have a lot of clay mixed with the sand. Staff was great. I would like to see a restroom for the back 9 so you don't have to walk across a road and through the landscaping up a hill.

I enjoyed playing the course I was paired up with two nice guys and it was a good round

Plenty of elevation changes, no water hazards. Wide fairways on most holes and some undulating greens and tough pin placements. The staff was very friendly and accommodating will play there again when in the Orlando area.

Course is in very good condition.

Greens and tee boxes were real good shape also. Only got to play 9 holes do to rain. Forgot to asked if they gave out rain checks.

Guy in pro shop really friendly,good clean buggy,course was in great condition, especially the greens, definitely would recommend this course!!!

Greens were in great condition but rolled a little slow vs what I am used to. Fairways a little spotty, haven’t came in quite yet. But will play it again.
