Highlands Reserve Golf Club

I'll keep this simple. This is a great course at $60 winter rates. The problem is that their rate is now $99, and they have priced many golfers out of the opportunity to play it.

I suppose they are going after tourists, but I won't be back since there are similar courses at better fees.

I was scheduled to play the course with a foursome on 2/27 but unfortunately I tore my meniscus the day before playing on another course… I called HR in the morning and told them what happened and the pro shop folded no worries…

Unfortunately HR thru Golf Now charged me the total cost for the foursome($400), I don’t believe that to be fair, it was not my plan to get injured we reallly wanted to play the course…

I tried to contact the GM of HR(Donnie) but to no avail, I called him and emailed him and he didn’t respond to either, not cool !

It’s just not right to be charged the full price for a foursome, I can understand a smaller cancellation fee but not full price, totally unfair !!

Staff was friendly, but course was in rough shape.

Good course for the money...could use some tlc though

Even after a very heavy rain the night before, this course was completely dry and playable the following day. Greens are elevated and many are crown greens, which makes it tough to hold the ball close to the hole. They were rolling somewhere around an eight to a nine on the stamp meter. But the greens were in great shape for the amount of play this Golf Course gets. So I would recommend it if you can get a price around $100.

From start to finish, our day was great. From the bag drop to the reception desk to the starter to the marshall to the halfway house, everyone was friendly and helpful.

We played in about 4 hours and enjoyed the course. We were paired up with Steve and Paul, who were a blast to play with. Just a great day all around.

If you spray the ball it's a great course...no water on it so it's hard to lose a ball. Pace of play just under 4 hours. Nice greens and over seeded fairways make this a good value course. They're doing a good job.

The scorecard distances were way off from the actual distances causing some awkward moments when we hit into the group in front of us. Course conditions were average, though greens were firm and didn’t receive our approach shots without unexpected rollouts. Snack bar, pro shop and on course personnel were above average. Finished in a couple of minutes over four hours. I would play the course again.

They should have turned on the sprinklers to get water on course

I was told courses make about 70% of their revenue while the snow birds are down here but they don’t water very well

Course was in horrible beat up shape, while it is nice and open I would never play here again. Maybe worth $30-40. Just beat up and dead everywhere. Greens might be worst in area. Would never play here again, pace was solid though but other then that not much going on

I was playing as a single and paired up with a beginner golfer. The will make you ride with who they say. You have no say so you paid over a hundred bucks to play with a golfer who is nice but hasn’t learned to hit a ball yet. So my advice is to only play this course as a 4 some. They are not that nice about pairing you either kind of like a drill sergeant that you pay to abuse you

We stayed in Orlando for 2 months and found this gem a few weeks in - we tried other courses, but found this tough to beat. The holes are all good, no water which can be a positive! For the price and course condition (very good greens), this is a must play golf course. Very friendly staff and unlike many courses, each group had a pace of play monitor and the rangers kept on top of it. Can’t wait to get back next year.

Nice course but not very green

Played mid afternoon and while the course was full play moved along at a good pace, we finished 18 in four hours on the dot. The greens were in good shape, fairways were decent but tee boxes were pretty beat up. I enjoyed the layout with the challenge being the rolling terrain since there is no real water anywhere on course after #1.

I’d play there again.
