Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Great day
Had a wonderful day on this golf course they have got it back to very respectable playing conditions .As for the Knuckleheads who complain about sparse grass it's like come on man it's winter time......greens are super fast and true!!! People complaining about tbox with sparse grass.
...you tee the ball up,who cares about the grass...you. should learn how to hit that 500 dollar driver before playing with it
Nice layout, fun, average condition at best
Fun course, nice track. Fairways are a bit sparse, and the greens are slow. We played LCP everywhere. I’d go back, but this course needs some $$$ and work.
Terrible Condition
The course layout is very good and could be fun to play. The greens were fairly quick and rolled true although it took a few holes to judge the speed and breaks. From a distance the course looks like it is a typical Bermuda course that is partially dormant. Once you get to the practice range and course you realize it is an optical illusion. Most of the course is hard pan with dirt and small weeds providing the greenery. It was awful. I can't imagine anyone playing the course for a second time under these conditions. The beer and hot dog after the round were the best part of the day.
Great course
Course on great condition love the layout would play again
Very nice
They could use a marshall on the course as it was a 5 hr round. A few of the tee box are starting to wear out.
Great greens
Greens are in really good shape, fairways are a little thin and in disparate need of water and the tee boxes need some TLC
Open and fair layout out, being from the Great White North it was a good start to some spring golf.
Clubhouse food was fantastic, I would recommend it 100%
Halifax
Large. Greens were in good shape, a bit fast and offered lots of breaks.
Tee boxes appeared to not have been over seeded like at other courses in the area and needed help.
Fairway grass was short and sparse in some areas. Near the greens grass was fluid the ground was hard to chip in.
Beautiful facility that I get to enjoy playing occasionally.
Frost delay reduced experience
The course was in good shape and I enjoyed my round. That said a frost delay was responsible for slow play and some frustration in the beginning. I don't blame the staff for the delay that caused a shortage of carts but better organization and follow-up was needed when carts became available. I was told I was third in line for a cart and watched at least 8 others loaded before complaining. It was a bit of a wild west scene at the practice green and first tee.
Bang for the buck
Great course for the price, new greens are a huge improvement.
Dollar for Dollar…
Tis the “season” here in Florida, what drives the economy so to speak, so you naturally expect to pay a premium for golf until at least May. With that in mind understand my way of rating a course is definitely the condition of the greens. Give me smooth consistent speed around 10 to 12 on the ole stimp and I am generally pleased. Doesn’t matter to me if the regular tees are not pristine cause you’re puttin it on a peg anyway. Halifax has the smooth greens but the tees are fairly shabby. The course layout is superb as well as the greens so I would give this a must play in the area….
