About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Still needs work
People working here were great. I golf lots of courses and conditions are important. Tees were poor, fairways poor, greens poor. I know they have reseeded, but after 1.5 years atill needs lots of work. Maybe in a year or two if they keep up on maintenance I'll try it again.
Nice Layout
Great layout. Tee boxes need some attention. Greens were fast.
Halifax
Tee time followed Lady’s league. Pace of play was painfully slow on the front side.
Fairways were very spotty. Sand traps were thin with sand.
Layout was good and you could tell the facility was nice in its day.
Slow Play
Very slow play—Over 5 hr round
Other than that all Good
Good value
Was happy with everything except the greens. Not sure if it’s off season or another issue but almost no grass at all.
Rough ride
Course is rough, bumpy and dry. If they watered the fairways this course would be incredible. Lots left to be desired. Layout is awesome but just a dry course and fell short of expectations based on reviews.
Course Could Use Some Love
The greens were rolling true and were fast. Very undulating however, so difficult if you are on the wrong side of the hole.
The tee boxes are a mess, with very little grass and the fairways are in tough shape as well. I know it is winter time down here but still not good enough for a return trip.
Great course
Great course with challenging holes that will test your shot capabilities. Only down side are the tee boxes,, most are crowned and hard ti find a level place yo tee up…
A challenge, but enjoyable.
The course was in relatively good condition, considering that it is still early in the year. The greens were very fast. We are here on vacation but I would play here again if we were back in the area.
Forgiving course
The day was perfect for golf and as a single, I was delighted to be put with a great threesome, Steve, Jill and Barry who were very easy to talk to and helped me have a very enjoyable day.
The course is fairly open and thereby forgiving for my somewhat inconsistent game. The greens were good and fairly true and I was happy to get some nice putts down !
I was surprised that there was little water with which to contend.
Some of Florida’s courses seem pretty narrow nday d with lakes and rivers.
A good clubhouse to celebrate the day afterwards.
Don't rent clubs
Course would have been fine if I had brought my own clubs. Clubs I was given were in very poor shape. Would have picked a different course had I known.
It’s golf
Very little grass, lots of mud balls. My first time playing, the staff “helped” me very little, I must have joined a bunch of regulars so they assumed I knew what/where to go. Big undulating FAST greens. Rough around greens allowed to grow so it is “sticky”.
