Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Dollar for Dollar…
Tis the “season” here in Florida, what drives the economy so to speak, so you naturally expect to pay a premium for golf until at least May. With that in mind understand my way of rating a course is definitely the condition of the greens. Give me smooth consistent speed around 10 to 12 on the ole stimp and I am generally pleased. Doesn’t matter to me if the regular tees are not pristine cause you’re puttin it on a peg anyway. Halifax has the smooth greens but the tees are fairly shabby. The course layout is superb as well as the greens so I would give this a must play in the area….
Beautiful and challenging course!
The course was nicely manicured and the greens were nicely kept, but fast. Tee boxes were flat and full. Pace was great, very busy day and we paced right along. Pro shop has few cold beers and chips, the have a restaurant, but did not eat. The course is long and spaced out, no two holes are right next to each other. The fairways are nice and open but all greens were well guarded. Enjoy 18 and will play again for sure!
Fast Greens & 5 PM Closing
The staff was friendly. The greens were very fast and hard as a rock. The extreme undulation made it difficult. The course closes at 5 PM. However, this was not communicated to us when we paid for 18 holes for a 2 PM tee time.
Greens are fantastic. Very large with undulations and fast. Fairways were nice and most tee boxes were nice especially the front 9 tee boxes were very nice. No hole is next to another, so it's not an open course but I wouldn't call it tight either. Very fun course and will come back. We played twice and the replay rate was only the $21 cart fee.
5 Star Review
No idea why Halifax Plantation is "not yet" a 5 or 4.5 Star Golf course .
First of all, This is truly a Country club with beautiful greens,Fairways and the Tees are well groomed as are the Sand Traps .Each hole is private meaning you can't see another hole !! Totally Beautiful !! The help is very friendly and the 19th hole / patio is impressive .. Love their Cheeseburgers !!!
Just moved here from the PGA National / Palm Beach Gardens and I'm soooo impressed with Halifax Plantation.
Very nice course
Course has improved over the last year! Fairways were a bit wet I would say they have been really watering it to keep the fairways angreens so as to keep them growing... play was a bit slow when we made the turn after #9. Starter was putting people that were playing nine on the 10th. Which they were. Unfortunately it was only 2 of them and we were a party of 4. They should be told the rules and let us play through.
Pace of play
Pace of play seems to big down the farther from the clubhouse you get. I miss the beverage cart.
