About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

needs improvement
over-priced for a single rider cart in a "still crazy cover environment". greens are ini VERY rough shape. even the local 9 holes for $9 course has taken better care of their greens. pub prices are higher than other local courses.

What Happened??
We have played this course on many occasions and have experience all types of conditions. Our recent round was memorable not in a good way but for the poor condition of the greens! What happened? Some serious attention needs to be give to the greens if they want golfers to return to this course. Other than that the staff and amenities are top notch.

Troubked Greens
I like the course and the comfortable relaxed environment. Normally the course is Ingrid shape. However this time the greens were poor with lots dead spots from what looks like fungus. Tee's could also use some help. I'm hopeful that they will get it under control, as I enjoy going there.

Played at Halifax plantation today , wow is the course in rough shape, diseased greens, almost bare tee boxes and huge ares of fairway where there is little turf , this is a fun layout , but , the greenskeeper needs to get on the ball , the whole course used to be lush...sad condition right now

This course needs a lot of work and money to make it decent.
This course needs a lot of work and money to make it decent. On some of the greens a lot of dead patches which we found difficult to put on. Parts of the fairways were sparse in places and the tea boxes did not have grass on then. Would not recommend this course and I will not play it again unless I hear there is a big improvement.

Greens
Still in ruff shape, they need to improve the greens, it would make it an excellent course
Nice layout need TLC
I enjoy the layout. The greens are improved from my last visit when there was little to no grass. Still som bad spots but puttable. The rest of the course was in pretty good shape. It needs help to compete with the other courses in the area.

What happened to the greens?!
I luv this course, in fact Im looking at buying a house in the subdivision. It has the feel of an old country club, with a great layout. But, the greens are now horrible. Recently aerated, and all of them putt really slow, and bumpy, and a few are, I believe, close to dying out completely.
You can see bug infestations on the greens, burrowing wasps etc, something needs to be done. Its too bad I was gonna play it all Fall, now I just dont know. Looking for Plan B

Used to be Really Good
This used to be a really good place to play when we were in town, passing thru or wanted to take a nice day trip. I have played there many times, but not in the last couple of years. I had friends passing thru on I-95 meet there to play a round as it is a good layout, convenient to I-95 & usually in good shape. It was in such poor shape, I was embarrassed I had suggested it. The tee boxes had more dirt than grass & not a level spot anywhere, the fairways had a lot of "bald" spots and the greens rolled slower than the fairways and had just been punched with the big holes. No warning, no discount, no indication that they were in a "building" phase, not to mention the pro shop attendant was disinterested, unfriendly & unhelpful. The pace of play was excessively slow in that we waited every shot, every hole while people "ball hawked" & not a marshal to be seen. Considering it gave us a chance to visit & catch up it wasn't that big of a deal, but it was still frustrating to see people more interested in finding balls than playing and staying up with the group ahead.
I know at one point it was either for sale or changed management or something of the sort, so I don't know if they "let it go" during this particular time or not, but I don't plan on going back anytime soon. There are too many other courses in that area that are in better shape, not as costly and with friendly employees.
Great course
Fairways had been aerated which made it difficult to get ant run out of your drive. Understand they have to do it.
