The greens need work and fairways were a little rough. Pace of play was slow
Great course and challenging for different levels of golfers
Course is still a bit wet from all the rain but overall well cared for. Course wasn’t very busy which is a surprise since it is a great value.
Good gone bad
I’ve played this course for 25 years and it’s always been a good course. Last year when I played it, it was in perfect condition from the tee boxes to greens. This time it was not. The lakes looked like broccoli wit some weird growth. The pro shop staff
We’re welcoming and very friendly, but the restaurant staff was lazy and inattentive.
This course needs help, but can be great again
Tournament was held just before our tee time
Threesome ahead of us were slow and at least 2 holes behind players in front of them. We had to wait several times and they wouldn't offer for us to go ahead. We were a twosome.
Value is best thing
Value is good, and Course layout is hard to very hard, and the Condition is fair (Greens slow and don’t roll true, Fairways fair, Tee boxes fair). Biggest problem is the irrigation floods certain areas on carts paths and fairways, causing massive puddles and muddy areas. However, I have played here after a storm, when other courses were closed, this one was open because it does drain well (except in those areas mentioned!)
Difficult Time Of Year
The course was sopping wet, grass was high. greens were terribly slow and pock marked from plugging.Bunkers were mud, not sand.
We had to skip 2 holes, two ladies playing slow, and a young couple "learning" with one set of clubs between them.
Sad to see this course in this kinda shape, but I assume it will get better when the rain/flooding ends.
There was still some fun mingling with the wildlife on the course.
Great Round of Golf
Serenoa continues to provide a great golf experience! The friendly staff and great course conditions provide a great value for the money. Try it, you'll like it!
Good value
Pace of play excellent. Front nine a little bumpy because greens were plugged recently. Back nine greens excellent. Good course for money.
Golf at Serenoa Golf Course Florida
I have played Serenoa Golf Course many times. I'm a senior and the course from the senior tees is comfortable for me. The holes have a variety of angles ie some dog legs, tight and open fairways etc. Course has some wet spots this time of year but they don't impact the pace of play. The restaurant is great. Food is terrific and the wait staff is excellent. I love this course as it fits my style of play and is very challenging for me.
Overall rating
Course was in okay condition. Greens on the back nine had been aerated, which made them slow and bumpy. Wildlife on the course was cool
Great value, friendly staff.
This course offers tremendous value for the money, the layout is forgiving and generally in fair condition. The clubhouse staff are very friendly and accommodating. Its worth a repeat play any time.
Not women friendly
The on course washrooms are few and far between, Added to this, the men disrespectfully use the women’s on-course washrooms and leave them in a mess. So much of a mess that women cannot use them, so it means that if you have to go while playing you either wait for the 10th hole or do not play the course.
I’ve played 3 times this season and every time the washrooms were like this. I mentioned it to the staff and they didn’t take my concern at all seriously.
As such, i will not play this course again.
must play course
I've played a lot of courses this one rates top of the list.
Nice Track - Needs some attention
This is a pretty tract. Not terribly difficult - sort of short - but narrow in some spots making a number of holes tough trying to bomb through them. Much better off with 3 wood vs driver off a number of tees - and a few holes with creeks across them - and blind - so be careful.
The sand traps are maintained by machine and have broken down edges which need some more thought and attention as a lot of sand dragged onto the fringe.
Some of the tees need work including re-leveling
Greens generally in good shape but a little furry the day I played recently. I've played the course before and this length was unusual - so the cut might have been planned for the weekend
Pro Shop staff was terrific - friendly and helpful - as was the snack bar team
Plan to come back again but it would be great to see the maintenance program reviewed and the tee work done - 1 or 2 at a time over the next 6 months
Overpriced for an average course
I paid 59 plus tax for a course that needs a lot of work. The tee boxes are uneven with scetchey grass spots. The fairways are in places bare and hard. The greens are acceptable and probably the best part of the course. It should be a 39 dollar course at best.
Poor poor poor
We arrived at 11:15, our tee time was 12:15 ..
We went in to pay, two lady's that didnt know how to run the computers, finally 20 min.later got our monies for the round, said we get lunch and drinks..we didnt get a cart yet, so we had to carry our bags to the driving range, which we paid $10 for balls , but no room to hit them..
Finally got a cart at 12:10, was totally over booked, waited another 20 min. To tee off..so slow
Took us 5 hours and 20 min. For one round, and we are fast players..then we finish , they tell us no lunch, kitchen closes at 4..no lne told us that..didnt honor suncoast card..
Never will I go back
