Decent layout and pace of play was good. Greens were in decent shape, but there was not a flat tee box anywhere. Decent for a value friendly course.
Fun time
It was a nice day. It rained for about 15 minutes. after it was over we continued on.
Help please
I have played Serenoa over 50 times and it seems that any money they get is just wasted on minor course repairs. The driving range has been upgraded, why? Put your money in the course. I’ve said before, hire some HS boys to just weed eat and clean the place up. Edge the cart paths and fill in the mud holes for goodness sakes. The changes to #5 are great and a good start to positive change. Who is making these decisions? The first par 3 on the back had grass seed thrown on the tee box which was still being used while the birds were eating the seed. Take it in and water it for goodness sakes. Block off the area . Any golfer would understand a tee box under maintenance. As “season” is just beginning in Florida its little to late to be resending now. I fear that in a couple of months the tee boxes will be garbage. Also please mow the rough a little it will speed up play. I will return but only because it’s a good price for this time of year.
They’re making improvements to the course, but that results in several grounds under repair situations. The greens were a bit long and slow. The course should be better in a month.
Bad Shape
Weeds. Potholes on the cart path. Thin grass on the fairways. Slow weedy greens. Not well maintained.
Course needs help
Went to play on a recommendation from someone and was disappointed. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens all could use a makeover. Trees have recently been taken down and the debris is still there. Water hazards were not staked to assist you visually from the tee box, The range was recently sodded (half) and the sod is going bad from lack of care. You can see they are trying to deal with some of the issues but may be short staffed or overwhelmed.
Stopped trying?
Seriously, crabgrass on the greens and so slow it was like playing a different game. Really disappointed since we drove 45 minutes to check it out
Bringing Serenoa Back
First time playing Serenoa in several months and was happy to see money being invested and improvements being made. The driving range is being completely redone and there has been lots of tree removal on the course to improve the play and ease of some holes (holes 5, 8, 11). Also many of the cart bridges and cart paths are being repaired/redone.
The course itself was in decent shape although it was extremely wet from a weekend of rain and cart path only, no fault to Serenoa though. Greens were damp and slow but in decent condition and fairways were neat. Always love the $6 lunch special at the turn and enjoy the food and drinks in the restaurant. Will definitely be back and look forward to see the improvements finished up right before season
Wet day
Course layout is nice however the greens extremely slow with long grass. Cart paths full of water from the photos online I expected the course to be maintained much better.
Surprisingly dry after all the rain we had 2 days ago. The hated 5th hole, par 5, (over canal, around or over a line of trees, elevated green) has been transformed by removal of the line of trees. I was on in regulation for the first time in over a year. Even though I have to lay up short of the canal. They have also taken some trees from the (un)loved 11th, making the corner easier to manage. This makes the whole course seem less antagonistic, and I enjoyed this round greatly.
Needs work
Fairways dried out and grass burnt like they were not watering. tee boxes and greens in need of attention
