About
Situated in the foothills of Bull Run Mountain, Bull Run Golf Club has a beautiful woodland setting that is conveniently located just minutes from many historic Civil War sites. The course plays through mature forests and across lush, grassy meadows. There are also several ponds that come into play throughout. The expansive layout covers over 450 acres, allowing plenty of room for the native flora and fauna. The risk-reward layout has plenty of challenges for more daring hitters but it also offers wide fairways that are molded to steer the ball towards the center. The landing areas are generous but they are often framed by grassy hollows, bunkers, or mature trees. Bull Run is challenging, but playable, which is why the club is considered one of the best golf courses in the D.C. area.

Course is in excellent shape
I love this course and even more so when it is in as good of shape as it is right now!
Stay out of the Rough
maybe it was due to gas shortage, but the rough was deep and impossible to find your ball if you miss the fairway. Tee boxes were flat and divot-free, greens and fairways were nicely manicured. Beer cart made sufficient rounds. Fun day other than the lost balls in the rough.
Course was in great condition, a little bumpy on some of the greens.
Can't wait to return
This course was impeccable, made me feel like I was playing at the country club. Def the nicest public course in the northern VA area. The pace of play was a bit slow, but the conditions were great, especially for mid April. Can't wait to play there again hopefully sooner rather than later.
Beautiful Course
Although a few of the greens were slow and bumpy due to aeration a few weeks back, everything else about the course was great. It's a fun but challenging course. Overall it is in great condition.
Running ball
Greens were a little rough due to aeration. They were covered by sands all over, but their speeds were enough to roll the balls. Staffs were kind enough.
3/20/21
Frost delay however was still able to tee off close to my scheduled tee time. Practice green and chipping green were punched and sanded. The greens on the course were not and were very nice. Fairways and tee boxes were average considering it’s March in Virginia. My only complaint was that the areas around the greens where there should be rough or fringe was spotty patches of grass. It made chipping or putting from the green extremely difficult.

Great layout, friendly staff. Enjoyed our round & looking forward to returning when the course is more “in season “. Overall great experience.

Highly recommend the course. Best pro shop. Fantastic items. Great items. Course is challenging and open. Perfect balance.
Course was in good shape all things considered
Thought given the recent weather course was in good shape. Hope they continue this and do not let the maintenance be overlooked., something Raspberry Management has seem to do a lot with its golf courses in the area over the years. The super friendly staff at Bull Run is always a positive. Please keep it up we all want to see Bull Run be what it once was with excellent course conditions.
