About
Situated in the foothills of Bull Run Mountain, Bull Run Golf Club has a beautiful woodland setting that is conveniently located just minutes from many historic Civil War sites. The course plays through mature forests and across lush, grassy meadows. There are also several ponds that come into play throughout. The expansive layout covers over 450 acres, allowing plenty of room for the native flora and fauna. The risk-reward layout has plenty of challenges for more daring hitters but it also offers wide fairways that are molded to steer the ball towards the center. The landing areas are generous but they are often framed by grassy hollows, bunkers, or mature trees. Bull Run is challenging, but playable, which is why the club is considered one of the best golf courses in the D.C. area.

Great Sloping Views
Relatively wide fairways, gettable par 4s, and nice sand traps. Very scorable course and grass was lush. Some greens quick, some slow. Great conditions for fall golf and they didn't mind us playing the last par 5 18th in the dark.
Bull Run

Great course
Course was in great shape considering the tremendous amount of rain and heat over the summer. Greens rolled true and fast. Pace of play was good. Will definitely play here again.
Nice course it come on folks fix those ball marks on the greens.
Teed off at 224 - as scheduled. But finished at 645 after sun had set. Could have been faster. 6 people teeing off on 18 in front of us as we were trying to finish was puzzling that delayed us a lot. Course conditions were good. Definitely recommend. Many do not repair ball marks on the greens. I was fixing 4 - 6 per green as were my playing partners. Come on folks!
Great Condition Other Than Some Fringes Around the Greens
Just a nit pick on the fringes but compared to a number of courses in the area, Bull Run is in great shape! Fairways are in great shape as are the tee boxes and greens. This should be a must play for everyone in the DMV area!! Will continue to be on my must play list in at least 5 or 6 times a year.
Very nice course ; great course for autumn
Had a great experience at Bull Run. Pace of play on the back 9 was very slow. Finishing hole is pretty but it backs back badly.
Great choice
In North VA for a few days and most of the public access courses are in bad shape . Bull Run was in good shape and the greens were excellent . The rough around the greens was the only negative but not really a issue . Great variety of holes very fair and interesting layout
Cool Morning
Course is coming back after summer heat. The greens had good pace and there was run in the fairways. The rough is a penalty as it should be.
Bull Run Golf
Bull Run is a premier course, great condition, with beautiful course layout with many holes secluded from other holes making it a very nice game. Wild life can be seen almost every game you play, and course has some really challenging holes that makes you play smart or risk a poor shot too much.
Really like playing this course. Could ylu replace the driving range mats and ensure each have a tee?

Lovely Day at Bull Run
This is a darn good course. Layout is gorgeous: few visible houses and on most holed you can't see any other hole. A lot of long carries (too many for this distance-challenged hitter) and a lot of interesting angles. For this time of year, it's in great shape. Fairways are well-drained and the greens are in well above average condition. However, on many holes, the surface right off the greens are in tough shape, with patches of crab grass and sedge, alternating with bare spots. On several holes, I would have elected to putt from off the green but the weeds wouldn't allow it.
